Went wheeling with a guy once in Moab where that bolt came out and the upper control arm went through his wiring harness. He was behind me and his headlights started going off and on then finally he lost all power.

Oof, glad I caught it when I did easy enough fix if we just pretend the alignment is fine.

You need a shop press. Bought one just to rebuild my lowers. Made the job so easy.

I have one at the shop . But someone got rid of all the adapters for  so I ended up using my ball joint press kit but still a pain in the ass tho . Once I get these swapped in I'm going to rebuild the other set that's coming off with BJ's from Sankei and probably use superpro's bushing's

I feel you... A front end rebuild is in my future too. I still have to source some preassembled wheel bearings and some poly bushings. I picked up the 12t press from HF but I may end up swapping it to the 20t and selling the 12t. Mo' ton's, mo' betta' is what I always say. I also picked up a compact bottle jack that fits between the tines of the LCA to help press out the old bearings. I wanted to do all that work this past weekend but I'll end up waiting for the next 3-day weekend to do all that front end work.

I thought hard about it as I stood in O'Reilys store picking up some Loctite, but when it comes to bearings and hubs, I want the Japanese bearings. I have been eyeballing these bearings preassembled from BluePit. I haven't done much research from them other than the initial search but between them and SKF or Beck/Arnley from rockauto, it looks like the bluepit bearings are made from quality. I till have to dig a little from customer feedback though.

Gotcha. Yea . I can't remember the brand I use but I get the from parks auto parts and I've never had an issue with them unless I'm bouncing off of rocks wheeling but even then they still stay solid

I want to say Moog is what I use

Oh I will. Its part of why I built my Shibbyduty. Flew out there 2 years ago to take in Arches and other scenery. Next time will be pulling Jack and to wheel/camp.

The heat and jack method worked great for me. I only had to fight one bushing. The rest popped right out with patience.
If you go with poly bushings, make sure they really crank down the bolts after the alignment. More than regular rubber bushings. Or you will get popping.

I need to do mine too. Pretty sure I’m still running original bushings on everything at 250k… I feel like doing them would knock down on road noise. Oh and OG shock too. She’s tired

The thing is, was it pre 2018 Moog or post Moog? I've heard horror stories of the quality of Moog degrading along the same time as that "event" that happened 2019/2020. It was based on that which moved me to pick up Mevotech LBJ's & bushings instead of Moog. Something about them moving their factory from one country to another. I understand that bearings are different than ball joints but if the quality lacks on one, I dont want to gamble with the latter.

I've been buying them starting all the way back. 2008 up to current for when I had my Tacoma and now for the 4runner . Plus I use them on customers Toyota's too and so far never had an issue with them . Also if I remember if you look at the moog ones on the bearing I'm pretty sure it says timken on it

Not sure about the Moog bearings, but when I installed my lift I replaced the LCAs with Moog. The bushings were shot within a year. I would get clicking noises when I started moving forwards or backwards. I rebuilt my OEM LCAs with sankei 555 ball joints and Whiteline poly bushings.
