So I built this camper sleep box set up years ago for my 1st Gen Access cab and it worked great. Fast forward to now, and with just a little modification they fit perfectly in my 2nd gen DCLB. So this weekend I refinished, carpeted, made a few updates, and installed in the 2nd Gen. Overall stoked with how it came out, and have a few more ideas in the pot to really maximize things.

Picked up a new grille off of marketplace.

Gonna colormatch this one so I’ll have both versions of the ‘11 grille for my truck.

Since it hasn't been hotter than the devils butthole down here in FL last few days I finally got round to getting fresh marker bulbs in as well as change out the 118k mi spark plugs.

PITA gettin all the intake stuff off the top of the 2tr-fe but a breeze after that.
Silky smooth now, eager to see my mpg come back a mi or so (hopefully)

Old plugs were fried but no otherwise weirdness thankfully, same w the coils - clean... for almost 120k mi

They should have put painted grilles on all SR5 and Off Road models and not just the Sport/Pro models. Was one of the 1st things I changed when I bought my 2008. All 3rd gens have painted grille surrounds including base SR models. One of the only things I missed from my 3rd gen.20230412_153628 - Copy.jpg2018_06300003.jpg

Got around to NHOU'ing the frame, rails and all the undergoodies. Had a scare when I dropped the spare, thought the mount was broke, but just needed a little extra oomph. Since this is a new to me Tacoma, I was pleased to find that the frame is minty upon close scrutiny (did a once over pre-purchase and looked good) for an 11 year old truck with 200K on her.upload_2023-10-11_10-48-5.jpg

Last year my older brother passed. Mo-Fo owed me money :rofl:so I ransacked (more like poked around) his shop looking for goodies, found these Rigid ditch lights  so I just installed them on my truck! Used the Cali Raised low profile mounts with the Rigid wiring harness/switch. I don’t much like the switch so I have a new “ditch light” switch coming that will mount in a factory spot.
Also added bed molle panels and RotoPax Jerry can. (Yes my SnugTop canopy leaks like a sieve).IMG_2073.jpgIMG_2075.jpgIMG_2076.jpg

One of the reasons I bought a Sport model was for the color keyed grill, bumpers, mirrors and door handles. The hood scoop cinched the deal. :)

    IMG_0999.jpg

    IMG_5442.jpg
I recently had the scoop painted satin black.

My last 2008 was nailed in the rear bumper at a stop light. Kid that hit me never touched his brakes. His car was a total loss. I polished his paint off of my chrome bumper. Left 2 small dents. For that reason I am ok with the chrome rear bumper. I like the look of the scoop but not a big deal. If it added any value I would probably change hoods but I just had my hood painted so I am fine with the flat one. I like the rear locker, which my 2016 Sport didn't have, more than the scoop.
