how to raise toytec coilover???

I just put Toytec coilovers on my 01 four door tacoma, I am wanting to to raise the front about 1/2 inch more. I tried doing it last night and got two full turns in... Took about 2 Hrs a side!!! Is there an easier way to raise them up????

 

Did you jack the truck up off the ground before turning the collar?

 

Yea it is very hard. I just did mine and I got the collars moved about an 1/4" and gave up. It would probably be alot easier if you take the coilovers off of the truck and then crank on them.

 

It is easier ON the truck, with the correct spanner wrench, pregreasing where the adjustment collar will be turned.
If off the truck - how will you check the adjustment height?

 

It tells you in the instructions. Its something like: for every 1/4" of threads lifts the truck 1/2". You could get it close, then make minor adjustments once they are reinstalled.

 

I jacked it up, but did not put jack stands on frame... I turned them two full times and my truck still looks the same in height???

 

Take a 1" piece if steel pipe. Hammer one end almost flat, just so the handle of the spanner wrench can slide inside the pipe. Use it as a breaker bar and it works like a charm. Just lube up the threads first and you should have a much easier time. I know from experience it is NOT easier with the coilover off the truck.

 

Ok that sounds a lot easier!!!! I could find a breaker bar that was small enough for the tool... Thats a bright idea I will try that here in a bit... Thank you
