Welcome to TW :) Every warranty concern you bring to a Toyota dealership will be written off as "normal" whenever possible. That said, it would not take much reading here to discover all the gear hunting, rough shifting, and vibration complaints. Not sure how many miles your truck has on it but they do get better as you put miles on it and the truck "learns" your driving habits.

I also have a 2023 Tacoma and noticed similar issues. It’s been a little over a month now and can say it’s getting better.

Not sure if it’s the truck learning how I drive or just me learning how to drive it.

I think some 3rd gen tacoma's have this issue, and some don't like mine. I never experienced it yet in my truck, but I did in a buddies 2019 trd, it felt like you were lugging the engine when he owned it. Idk why, seems some trucks just run better than others.

Can you describe in more detail what “small bucking between 38-45 mph” means? If that’s how you described the problem to your dealer, I think they likely didn’t understand you.

Test drive one on the lot with them, and do the same with yours. This will help differentiate your truck, or it may do the same, and you’ll know it’s part of the quirkiness of our trucks.

An ignition misfire doesn’t have a unique sound or feel. However, the ECU does produce diagnostics for such stuff. If you bring the truck to a mechanic, they can check this for you, or you can can invest in some tools and education.

I can say that I have felt a similar sensation around that speed range but the “dip” has lessened after performing some maintenance tasks. That or it’s my biases trying to justify that I’m making a difference. Or I’m used to it now and have adapted my driving to suit. Hope that helps

Not a misfire. It is the torque converter in action. Dealer is correct
    There is an option -Tuning.

It's weird how some tacoma's need a tune to mask that issue while others run fine stock. Be interesting to find the reason why.

I suggest using your Ect button to help alleviate that problem when driving back roads or hilly areas.

My 03 4runner did, the bumpy shift at low speeds though. Same with my Taco, but I don't think its an issue.
