My wife and I were fishing one time and she thought she caught something. A very nasty looking frog shaped lure was on the hook when she reeled in... along with a stick and a bunch of algae.

When I was about 8 my family went fishing at a public lake. The fish weren't biting and I had the attention span of an 8 y/o so we wound up laying the poles down on some rocks by the lake and just walked around checking stuff out. Came back to the poles and my mom picked one up, swung the hook towards herself, and started screaming bloody murder. At some point while we were gone a toad ate the worm we were using for bait and got hooked. Then a snake came and ate the toad and got hooked so my mom had swung a live, pissed off snake straight at herself.

That's one of my most vivid memories from that age. Not sure if it's because of my mom screaming or because of how cool of a lesson it was on the food chain. Probably both.

Another on my list of pet peeves… this is just from one campsite. Not even close to 1/4 of what I’ve picked up this summer

And scads of shotgun shells and clay pigeons. I've picked up enough whole clay pigeons to box them up and sell them at a yard sale.

We were hiking a couple days ago and there was a new campsite where someone parked in the trees off a dirt road. Three young trees cut and laying on the ground and evidence of two larger ones probably cut for firewood and hauled off. All live trees when cut. And not fifty feet away all kinds of standing dead wood, seasoned and ready for splitting.

    Yeah.
Yeah a bit more permanent than toilet paper and poop, but that is my pet peeve. EVERYBODY POOPS! Have a plan. Even if it is holding it until you get home, have a backup plan.

Not exactly in the woods, I found this in my side yard. It’s difficult to tell from the picture, but the thing is about the diameter of a basketball.
I would swear this mushroom grew overnight

Oh there will be some mods all right
I would say these dudes qualify as something cool I found in the woods. Hung with a whole group of beavers. Came up to about 8 or 9 ft away at some points. Lots of tail slapping and swimming around. At one point my heart was beating a little fast because he was standing on his hind legs sniffing and staring straight at me I was wondering just how close he was going to get lol.

Not the woods, but interesting enough. A baby cactus, and what the baby will grow into (at least I think it will). The baby is about 4 inches tall.
