Only one waterfall today because the other places I stopped at were all dry. Como Falls over in Minnesota.

    IMG_6824.jpg

Made one last stop at Granddad Bluff in La Crosse on the way back. Sun was wrong for best photos but views up there are always good.

    IMG_6832.jpg

Oh yeah one more stop at the Chinese buffet which was pretty bad but I’m a sad fat piece of garbage and ate it anyways like the bi-pedal trash panda that I am.

    IMG_6840.jpg

Back home now. Silver does hide dirt very well but just trust me it’s real dirty. Sliders are more mud than metal.

    IMG_6841.jpg

One touchless car wash later…it looks good from afar but far from good.

    IMG_6844.jpg

And of course, because it’s been a drought all f’ing year and only rained during my vacation like all year…it has to start raining ahead of forecast right after I leave the car wash. I hope it washes the rest of the mud off. I’m done.

    IMG_6849.jpg

Total trip 2,526 miles in about 2.5 weeks. Pretty typical compared to the past several years of similar expeditions. Other than one seemingly idiotic trip to Duluth (which actually turned out being productive), I didn’t even push that hard to go long distances. Just happened on its own.

    IMG_6843.jpg

Sad that it’s over for now. Beyond excited to sleep in my actual bed again. Tomorrow begins my least favorite part: dismantling and cleaning everything.

It sure looks like you had a great trip! Thanks for sharing all the pictures and stories! I'm glad you were able to work the fall colors trip into your agenda. It's always good having you along!

Yeah, at first glance I thought it might not be enough damage to warrant and insurance claim. But, after taking a closer look yesterday, a lot of the crumple zone parts are broken. At this point, I won't be surprised if it's over $5,000.

Yeah, the more I look at it, and the more I talk to people, the more I think It's going to cost. I talked to someone from Caliber collision this morning who had seen pictures (A friend works there) and I got the impression that my estimate of "a couple thousand $$" wasn't even close.

Maybe once I get it to a shop I'll start a poll and everyone can guess at the final cost. Or, we could start a pool and the winner gets to pay my deductible.

theres probably at least $5k in parts before you get to paint and refinishing.... which is gonna be another 3-5k for a shop that does decent work. I wouldn't be surprised if you are over 10k

Probably should just part it out and buy a ridgeline.

Thanks it was a great trip and good to connect with so many TW members along the way! Always enjoy joining up with such a great group, and I’ll second that I’d join just for the burgers/egg rolls/cocktails and camaraderie!

Now get your buggy fixed up and armored up and get ready for the next one!
