    My understanding is that you'll need to relocate the transmission cross member (as the auto and manual trans are different lengths). That also means you'll need a different length rear driveshaft. Then there's the wiring involved. And the throttle body is different from auto to manual, and you would probably need the manual one. Not impossible, but certainly would need to plan ahead.

    maybe a turbo would be cost effective and skip the tranny swap with all that's involved there ?

    What's your definition of cost effective? I'm planning to put a turbo on mine, and just the initial turbo kit from cx racing that most people use is ~$5k, and to really do it right you need a Haltech (tunable) ECU too that I believe is around $2k. Then there will incidentals (dyno time, AFR gauge, etc) that'll add up too. Could easily see the 9-10k range being a realistic investment to go the turbo route, if you do it right that is.
