I just watched that episode and too much stuff seems set up for me... Like the state trooper waiting outside while one of the workers was showing around his girlfriend. Too hard to tell what's real on these shows anymore.

I'm half with you Dan, half with your buddy. The State Patrol officer outside their shop was obviously set up. Whether or not he was supposed to actually be at their shop thay day will remain unknown, but the "locked out and the owner just happens to walk up" scenario is totally staged. However, I have no doubt the guns they make & shoot are very real (and flippin' sweet). Still a sweet show, regardless of set ups.

Yeah, a lot of the shows seem to be "forced" by the way the employees are acting. I do like some of the stuff they get to build. Hell, where else can you roll on down to the bayou and blast a canon mounted on your boat. hahaha.

I still don't really understand the purpose of the water cooled M16's mounted on the boat? It's cool what they built to make it work, but a SAW or M240 would make more sense.

I don't know, maybe maybe not. I've certainly seen things like this happen in real life... If they follow them 24/7, this happens once, and they pick it out to show on TV, I wouldn't be surprised.

I am prone to thinking it's real because that kid can't be a particularly good actor, yet he looked authentically bashful and aware he'd messed up.

I suspect customers come in all the time, and they only show the footage when its "tv-worthy."

no, but i have a chip McCormick matchgrade trigger that has a very light pull to it and i was bump firing with that beta-c 100 round mag in it. it got hot, but not glowing red hot

So you haven't done the experiment, and therefore can't call BS. ;)

Full-auto is still far faster than bump firing.

true, but burning gunpowder and hot gas still heats up the barrel and gas tube the same way, just a little slower. im not tryin to put 300 rounds through my gun in a matter of minutes and waste $200 trying to see what i can heat up and break on my m4 either

Well, you shot 100 rounds way slower than full auto and got it hot.

They shot 300 rounds at full-auto as fast as possible and got it red hot.

Seems like a logical thing to happen to me. Either way, regardless of whether a regular full-auto gun mounted on that boat is more sensible, the dual m16's was cool to see.

    That show is retarded. :stirthepot:

I understand that it is just TV and for entertainment, but other than the episode with the old marine and the flamethrower it has been complete garbage.

The "security contractor".. lol that wanted the automated gun, that looks like it is housed in a weber grill. The "masterkey" which Knights Armament has had out for decades, that Red Jacket claims they are inventing. The bang stick that has been around for a long time that they also claim to be inventing. All of these things make them look like a bunch of lying fools.

Also, why would the Navy be asking their rinky dink swamp shop for some water cooled m-16s? They have ZERO use for such a weapon. The military already has lots of light and heavy belt feds or miniguns they could use.

They also portray gun owners as a bunch of swamp hillbillies. Last, but not least is that daughter who is fucking annoying as hell.

I think I've made my point.
