If one were to buy a set of spindles with manual locking hubs for a 95'-02' Tacoma, would it bolt up to an 04' Tacoma?

Spindles are non-ABS and my Tacoma has ABS.
    Any info appreciated.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
There’s a few things you need to do. You would the appropriate CVs as well but they do directly bolt up. If you want to keep your ABS you have to incorporate the tone ring and the obvious ABS knuckle. I can be of assistance if you need it.

You can utilize your own spindles; will require pressing out the old bearing and hub and pressing in a new set with appropriate wheel hub.

Plus side is you'll have all new components while keeping ABS.

Second, you'll need manual hub CV axles as ADD cv axles are slightly larger in diameter.

You'll want to engage, and lock into place your front differential as well (cheapest/easiest) versus removing the shaft on your differential for the manual hub variant.

Last but not least, you'll need the manual hubs themselves.

PS I hope you don't ever consider crusty parts like those. I've ran into free spindles or as little as $50 a set in working order that were rust-free. No use paying for junk that should get tossed away.

Thanks for the info, you do really good work on those.

Thank you for the info, yeah I was thinking of replacing bearing and upper ball joints and thought it would be a good time to swap to manual hubs. Those spindles do look terrible and the ones on my truck have no rust so that would be silly if you can just convert. Since I would have to buy new CV's its not practical money wise for me right now but I will keep this in mind for the future.

You can typically find OEM cv axles free; someone posted in our thread and I suggested he post it in the marketplace.

    They went quick.

Nice thing is, you can get several and reboot them as the reboot/grease kit is still available from Toyota.

Hell, I hate to admit but I've tossed maybe 6-7 OEM cv axles both manual hub and ADD cause no one local to me needed them.

Seriously, don't even spend a dime on a set unless they're new or have new boots and grease.

Not sure where you find all these manual hubs, spindles and CVs, but please share. They are getting very hard to find and I never run into anybody give away manual stuff.

I have, although to be frank I'd post them in our BS thread as those guys will tell you how many times I've found parts or had to throw them away.

I did find them several other parts for cheap such as spindles, fenders, etc.

I even threw away a perfectly functioning front differential complete with 4.10 gears cause I had no more space in my storage :bananadead:

Most of it I found were locally on FB but sometimes even here on TW. Or others find them and send me a message to pick it up for them.

If you see something for cheap or free in my area (Fresno County) just send me a message to pick it up.

I've pulled parts off part outs quickly and easily.

Sure would, if you can find a manual hub front diff -OR- the manual axle tube that goes with the diff, it'll be a lot cleaner instead of having to lock your ADD actuator with a hose clamp.
