This is why I dislike the 30 in screen in the 2024s ... people watching video of any source using the head unit instead of driving.

You asked ... do not complain if I find your attention to how long it takes for video to get out-of-synch with audio a reason to never be driving near you.

When I first got my truck, I decided to experiment with the screen. I put several videos on a small usb drive and plugged it into the entertainment unit. I found that the screen could play videos this way. As a last test, I put the car in drive while still holding the brake. Sure enough, the video portion of the videos I had loaded blanked out while the audio continued to play.

This was an interesting experiment that I have not revisited since, though I’ll note that I didn’t notice any lag. As far as I’m aware, this is the only stock method to get video playing on the Tacoma screen. If you’re using YouTube, you must have some aftermarket plugin or system. That’s what’s causing your issue.

But is this really something to resolve? As others have noted, driving with video is dangerous.
