My daughter turned 16 yesterday and all she has wanted since she's been talking about vehicles is a Tacoma 4X4. We had already told her she would be starting out with a beater car and she needed to work her way into a Tacoma. She is such an awesome person with excellent grades and a good work ethic, so I told my wife we were going to find her dream truck if one was in our budget. I lucked up with this one owner 2012 with a small lift and some extras.
Needless to say, she cried when she got it yesterday. I'm sure she'll be part of the Tacoma world for years to come.

That's a sharp looking truck! Funny, been looking for my oldest lately as well. How many miles on that 2012?

good job dad. so many parents want to "teach their kids a lesson" by getting them a crappy car first. while i do get the concept, if you can afford it, why not put them in something safe and comfortable? glad she likes it

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
What are the chances you would like to adopt a 62 year old dude? Asking for a friend.

Nice! Congrats! Are you giving her lessons in maintenance next? Is she interested in wrenching, or just driving?

It has 178k. The truck has really been taken care of and I was not afraid of it reliability wise at all. It has most definitely been used as a pavement looker over being offroad abused for sure.

It's funny you say that because my wife got a brand new Toyota Celica convertible for her first car and she wanted my daughter to have a little beater to start with to where I was handed down a 1976 Ford Granada my sister had used for college and my older brother had side swiped a rock wall with so I wanted my daughter to have what she wanted as long as I could afford it.

I'm going to work with her on the basics such as checking the fluids and spare tire changes. We are a mx/xc racing family so wrenching kinda comes with our lifestyle plus her 13yo brother will be sucking up to her to take him to the tracks so I'm sure he'll be helping with keeping it clean and maintenance lol.

Quite a bit better than the '79 Pinto that I started out with, and a hell of a lot safer.

Agree, I remember having a friend tow my first car home - shut the door and rust fell on the driveway...
