Since I'm an engineer and words don't work so well for me, only pictures, I'll let another more eloquent writer place the words that describe my feeling.

“The things other people have put into my head, at any rate, do not fit together nicely, are often useless and ugly, are out of proportion with one another, are out of proportion with life as it really is outside my head.”

I think camping and sitting around the campfire help reset that primordial feeling of well being - you know the one where jokes and flatulence are shared with hearty laughter. I was reminded of such on a recent trip across the Kaibab plateau.

If I ever do a ditch light setup, it's probably only going to be for this reason. Love me some spooky season :pumpkin:

Got my wifes tailgate finally back from getting wrapped. She switched all the latches and stuff over herself. Now this weekend to start the new flooring in the bed. 20231012_144258.jpg

Ditch lights are my #1 least used lights...I'll probably take them off at some point.

Yes... no offense to anyone that has them, of course. Just think they're more an aesthetic than a function.

    But jack-o-lanterns tho.

I have a 30" S8 in the winch bumper and Squadron Pros in the fog pockets...ditch lights are a bit...redundant

This is why I likely won't be going with them. Got the S8 in the winch bumper as well. I'm OEM Fog lights on the TRD OR, have rock lights waiting to be added for night fixes, and will be adding a bar on top with a roof rack, eventually.

I don't think brightness will be an issue when she's all said and done, ditch lights aside. lol

That makes a ton of sense, as someone who's had deer pop up out of the corner and literally run into the side of my vehicle back at home in GA.

What are you doing for the flooring?

I'm planning on getting GFC next summer my thought was to do some birch 1/2 or 3/4 inch plywood mounted to the bed using the bed bolts and carpet it. That way I have a nice surface and something to mount the fridge slide to

Yeah all I have is the SP6's on the bumper and the rigid ditch lights. The 3rd gen 4runner headlights suck.
Yeah those sneaky bastards are no fun! But oh so delicious :hungry:

I'd pass on the roof mounted light bar if you can. Unless you like glare on your hood, and being blinded in dusty situations.

Also team no ditch lights here. I do have a pair of S4's oriented slightly outboard in my front bumper. Those and my Combo LP6's splash loads of light out to the sides.

I am doing 3/4 subfloor plywood. Got some wood flooring planks at the HD I will mount to the plywood. Then use a aluminum corner bead to seal of the front lip. Thats the plan......so far.

Definitely not great in dust, but getting rid of hood glare is pretty easy. I just moved my bar back a few inches and it completely removed the glare, which was still present even with spot lenses. Now whenever I see someone with a light shoved all the way forward on their rack, I can't help but think how bad the glare is.

This is a 40" S8 on the roof and six squadron sports in the bumper.

Here's a before and after of hood glare.
