I hate them, I have a hard time finding one that says put. good luck. Seems like you need a script for a good one.

Mod for the day. Turning a Bedslide Sidekick into a RamBox (ish).
Yesterday, I pulled the side boxes. I liked them until I didn't. Got in the way of loading more than I thought.

    20231012_140157.jpg

But I had an idea. And stopped at Ace this morning. A hefty 6x6 corner bracket is perfect!

    20231013_120423.jpg
    20231013_125108.jpg

No mods to the Sidekicks at all. Just needed to wallow out one bolt hole in the new bracket.

    20231013_123843.jpg

They goes like this. And they mount to the D rings on the side rail.

    20231013_125357.jpg

    20231013_130009.jpg
    20231013_130736.jpg

Now they are out of the way. Can be removed with 4 bolts if I want. And actually sturdier than they were. And the original parts are unmolested and stored.

Sorry... but what is (was) it supposed to do/be useful for? To me, not really knowing what the purpose is and only guessing, it looks like a can of worms to me. A slide out for the bed? But then, what are the elevated boxes to the side for?

This is why I build my own stuff.

Are you sure you're old? The slide out rolls out over the gate to facilitate easier loading at Lowe's where no one helps any more, and unloading at home, where it's always DIM. Heck of easier than getting in and pulling stuff out. The bins simply hold stuff. I could not build many things for what I pay. They were close to what I needed, just needed some help.

Google Bedslide. I got rid of my Decked because everything was too high.

LOL... Is "DIM" an acronym for something (or just a lack of light)? I don't speak acronym very well. I have the same problems with Lowe's and have better luck at Home Depot... but either way I get your point.

I have an older brother that is considered a mechanical genius because he can build anything to do a simple job, and his machine will have 38 moving parts and take a techy manual full of instructions to use. People love him and pay him big money to build stuff.

You need a low sliding surface that can be loaded with heavy stuff and will pull out over the tailgate for loading and unloading?

    Do It Myownself.

Yes. Low, flat, rolling to mostly outside bed walls. Yes, materials exist where this can be made for less than paying a US company for a pretty nice product.

So I went riding on the AT today--a Friday the 13th ride. What could go wrong? :bikewheelie2: First I need to pay the electric bill. I'll hit-up an ATM first. :infantry:

Had to use a bank card though.

Rode down into some familiar area of Tennessee. Good for a few hours and about 113 miles.

    original_60cdb334-c31a-44c4-95c3-0c74ce3e24e3_IMG_20231013_104900858.jpg

Read a few lines of the sign as I passed. Turned around to finish reading and picture for you guys.

    IMG_20231013_120921452.jpg

Stopped in a river bed for a picture.

    IMG_20231013_121723336.jpg

Back in Kentucky and in Amish territory, the bike is wiggling oddly. Soon it felt like a tire was going flat. So, I stopped for a look-see.

    IMG_20231013_124839856.jpg

Tire pressures were good. While here, I heard two ghostly sounds of windy booooing. This is weird. Hopped on the bike and finished the ten miles or so back to the house. No squirmy tire feeling after about a mile.

It was Friday the 13th and the area! Spooky stuff there west of Scottsville, Kentucky. :jpow:

Welcome. This past winter I went back to my post from69-70, Ft. Stewart, Georgia. Everything had changed. So many traffic lights on post, there were none when I was there. The Ft is now artillery, when I was there it was helicopter and light fixed wing aircraft training.

Good morning. We made it up to Caseville , MI and ready to get the SIL's cottage ready for winter. Supposed to have high winds and rain today.
