Do you have to go back to the dealership for them to use their computer?

i read on here that you can disconnect the battery for 15 minutes, and it will reset
the ecu. then if the light comes back on, you know you have a problem. mine is on,
i am going to try it this weekend, if i can find time.

My '05 airbag light went on after 4 years... the wire harness had to be replaced $$$

Turns out LOTS of Tacos also had the SAME defect... but factory won't pay if over 3 years/ 36,000 miles old.

The slip ring on the steering wheel is usually the culprit. Its around a 200 part and it takes around 20 minutes to install. Airbag light has to be reset at the dealer.

5% Front strip and doors, 20% wrapped around the rest of the truck.
I had the same problem on my 07 the mechanic where I work told me to try disconnecting the battery n reconnecting it didn't work for me he suggested I take it to the dealer as soon as I could, which I did and they found out what was wrong. Had a bad spiral cable within my steering wheel and they has the part overnighted and ready to go the next day no hassle took truck in n walked right out after it was done without owing a penny

About $300... as that was the only non-warantee failure in 102,000 miles (other than the soft springs in back I added air bags for)... I wasn't very angry.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
Could be the clockspring. Mine (05) was on and then I got in a front end collision.

The body shop replaced it under insurance when they found out the clockspring was the culprit.

Ya your whole airbag system is covered under the longer powertrain warranty. A lot of people don't seem to know that.

I had my spiral cable replaced under warranty only a few miles (km) from the deadline.

    Good luck!

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
My 2006 had the same problem, with 44K the spiral spring cable failed, despite my showing the dealer that it was covered, according to my manual, they said it wasn't and it cost me $600. I have filed a complaint with Toyota and have filed a complaint with the Attn General of MA. MJEFF
