Yeah. I mean a part of me was thinking to just wait but I’m feeling negative about it so honestly I kind of just want out.

    @GarlicFarts is def onto something

if I get a swingout I might look at like the caliraisedled hoop bumper with that discount they’re offering lol. Depends on the wait I suppose as well

I looked at the caliraised but it requires you to cut the pro skid and I don’t want to do that. I don’t see a real equivalent to the SSO that doesn’t require skid cutting or the hoop disrupts the TSS on the pro grille.

Yeah I felt like I’m like either full hoop or no bull bar.

been doing errands this morning so I only glanced at it. Cutting your skid seems like.. a shit design tbh

That’s what I think as well. Calis post also rubbed me the wrong way a bit. Felt like they were ambulance chasing. I don’t think it would stop me from buying other products from them, just didn’t seemed disingenuous.

so brute force sent me some pics of the spindle assembly but I feel like again it’s not quite incorporating what we are trying to look for.

I’ll attach for everyone’s viewing pleasure

yeah a little opportunistic.. lol. Pretty big discount tho hahah

and then a couple pics of the arm itself which I don’t think are relevant for us

    Yeah, that isn't double shear.
Mine is. One of the reasons I went the route I did.
My swingout on my WJ was as well, but, it was him joints with spacer between, and a 5/8(IIRC) grade 8 bolt. No issues with that. Hated the latch though.
    Time will tell.

And as far as charge-backs... I'm dealing with one now, and getting pushback.
But, of course, I can't even speak to someone in this country, which pisses me off even more....

So that’s basically the same setup as a trailer axle, which is a good way to make a single shear joint if you have to. It’s kind of 50/50 what’s stronger/more durable a double shear bolt or a single shear spindle imo.

My buddy had an 86 Escort GT and asked me to install spring spreaders one night. I jack it up and go under with the light. He happens to bump the right rear tire and I saw things move/felt rust hit me in the face. I shine the light in the well and said " do that again" more rust. Yup, tower rotted out to where the deck speaker frame was rusty too.

I crawl out "Get a new car"
    Him "Why?"
Me "kneel down and hold the light here (hit wheel) that's your whole tower, get a new car"
Him "can I get i welded? How long can I drive like this"
Me "your wheel is sitting crooked. You could drive a year and be fine, down the street and lose the wheel/axle/life. I'll follow you the 4 miles home, drive slow, and take the fkn plates off NOW"

    DINKWTC is mine.

Thanks, I may go with the brute force then if it seems similar in build quality. I just don’t want to get something with expected problems down the road

Mine sorta is. Spindle, threads down into plate, which is stacked under bumper sheet, top, is in a brass bushing, inside the top plate.
    Supported top and bottom...
Just need to finish putting it all together... as well as get my leafs and front banged out. I'll be on my way to FL 2 weeks from yesterday....

    Edit..
I know of another way to do double shear spindle. More work, huge peace of mind...

I've seen that truck, though, not sure where...
Pretty much what I want, though, needs to be a manual, and I was informed, they never made 4dr, TRD OR in Manual... bummer...

Yes, he bought it when he was living in FL

Could have been a variety of spots. I think his wife drives it quite a bit and she is a traveling nurse. It's a prerunner converted to 4wd
