Airbag light on and seatbelt light on 24/7

Seems that im having every issue happening with my truck, ive had this one for a bit. My airbag light has been on for about 2 months now. It would go on and off but now its on all the time. But recently i had 3 people in the car and some duffel bags that werent too heavy behind the drivers seat, and since then my seatbelt light is on and flashing even if everyone has there seat belt on and the pass airbag light above the AC controls now states OFF. I reset the battery and nothing, i looked underneath the drivers seat and there is a yellow male plug under it unplugged but no female plug anywhere. I would take it to the dealer but it will cost me an arm and a leg or them to fix it. Does anyone have any ideas? On passenger side all plugs are connected and not loose.

 

I just had the same thing happen in my 17’. Did you figure out the problem.

 

My 22 does this intermittently with the passenger seat. Been driving for weeks it has been fine. Went to leave the base this morning and get about 3 blocks from lodging and seat belt alarm starts going off. Passenger airbag is ON with no one in the seat and the only thing in the seat was my wallet.

Other times it will just start sounding the alarm and passenger airbag is off.

My fix is jut to buckle the passenger seatbelt. Don’t have time to waste on a dealer looking at it.

 

I believe the Srs system is 5yrs/ 60000. There has been some seatbelt, underseat connections,, steering column wire failures in the past

 

Yes, I couldnt figure out the issue so i went into a local mechanic and had them do an airbag diagnostic. The issue is that the seat was out of wack some how, they recalibrated it and havent had the issue since. I dont remember the code he gave me.

 

Yes, i believe that it was not calibrated right after it was salavged. After it was recalibrated it was all good so far.
