Based on all the fences, I don’t think dandelions are the neighbors’ top concern…

But we’re here for the safety and protection of the truck. Good job, Red Bull!

I can understand that an oring would seal tighter with engine heat cycle, but breaker bar tight? My experience is different.

After I got the dealer oil change and then it was time for me to do the oil change, I would need a breaker bar to remove the housing. Now at 45,000 miles after I performed many oil changes myself I never need a breaker bar to get that housing loose. So my experience shows that dealers cause oil housings to be way too tight Beyond spec. There is some correlation there not sure what it is but seems like a correlation.

If I look at the technical design of this filter housing, I see an O-ring placement which eliminates oil leak during operation. Doesn't matter how tight the housing is, if that O-ring is in place there's no oil coming out and as long as the housing is tighter than finger tight there's no chance of it spining off during operation which would cause massive oil leak.

    Just my observation.

265/75 or 235/85 are very common upgrades on 16-inch wheels. No fitment issues unless you have big negative offset, or if the wheel is too wide for the 235s.

If you have stock wheels, either size requires no modifications.

The deer sure were busy this weekend. That hurts.
Between my wife and I we've hit 4. Two were minor and we ignored, 1 was in a rental car so we said sorry and turned it back in. The big one was in my 4Runner at 65 mph: Hood, front fender, drivers door, airbag, grill, AC radiator, fuse box, battery, grill, bumper, headlight (just the wires were left). Since it didn't touch the suspension or the engine (advantage of a body-on-frame design) insurance fixed it and it is still running great 230k miles later.
Good luck dealing with insurance and getting parts.

I don't mean to like this as I feel your pain. Glad you're ok, the weather last night was a perfect storm for them along with hunting season, harvest, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a full moon either. Looks like your worse off then me so I wish you luck in the repair process!

I grew up in upstate NY and throughout my teens and early 20s drove all the back roads of CNY hills, forests, snow, never once hit a deer. Move to corn country where you can see for miles because of how flat it is around here and come up over the smallest of hills and BAM....so aggravating but State Farm is the best. Zero deductible, full coverage and a rental for 20-30 days or up to $600. Gonna go through the last shop that did body work on the tacoma and hope it comes out just as good. The part deal is gonna drive me nuts though coming from a repair shop and knowing the process of getting things these days.

The airbags didn’t deploy, but she’s rough. Can’t open the passenger door.

The good thing about the airbags not deploying is you shouldn’t have an issue getting repairs done. I’ve heard from others on here that it can be difficult to find a shop to do repairs if it involves airbags due to liability issues. Hope you’re back in business soon.
