They are made in Mexico and shipping up the east coast and dropped off at the port of Baltimore or Newark nj

No they get loaded onto ships. If you follow the tracking status from the dealer it says “vessel” depart “vessel” arrive etc.

Or buy a few gallon containers of this ethanol free 92 plus octane at the big box home improvement, or tractor/ power equipment dealers, and shove that in your tacoma's tank. Its not cheap, but that stuff runs unreal in my mowers, and yard power equipment.

Yea this thing is sensitive to gas for sure. Try 87 of a top tier brand. In personal Experience the brand mattered more than than the octane .

I looked zero stations around me see that. As long as it idles smoother I’m happy. Still is idling 100 percent smoother now, like I said I have no idea why it was doing that but only guessing

I use mostly shell, or irving 87 thats got at least 10% ethanol in my tacoma. Truck runs really well with it. I've put other brands once in awhile, no issues either. Our fuel is really fresh, that the main thing.

Tier rating, storage degradation, and octane are three separate variables that you’d have to individually isolate between alternating tanks to know for sure, however I’ll just say octane is the least likely culprit. What we do know is that the 3.5 is a sophisticated and sensitive beast regardless.

The correct answer for you of course is if what you’re doing now works, just continue to keep doing it the same way. Glad to hear it settled down.
