Good find man. I loved my Speed Triple. I road my friends 675, and was impressed with the handling.
You found 2 very solid machines with some nice parts! I also had a Penske on one of my Suzuki SV1000s. They are very nice and like other mentioned are easily tuned to your weight and needs.
I thought the Penske was the sweet spot for performance and $.

Congrats on the new job! Do itttt, it's been fun. I'm at a bit over 800 subs now and have made a grand total of like $36 from Amazon affiliate links I need to get another video up soon, my garage is mostly organized and ready to go and we only have maybe half a dozen boxes left to unpack. I scored that aRacer mini x from a member on here (who I think should be back from his uh vacation soon, unless it got upped to a perma..) so that's going to be a pretty big deal, mods wise, and it's making me look at the DHM v2 149cc bbk, cam, injector, and oil cooler route, too.

 

Went on a ride yesterday with my brother in law and Nephew, one’s on a KTM and the other on a Husqvarna and I’m riding my trusty old 1984 XR250R. We get out in the middle of nowhere and the KTM’s shift lever loosens up, neither of the new bikes have tool kits so my old Honda and it’s original tool kit save the day we all had such a great time!

 

So, yesterday I altered my plans to get my butt to the dealership and put a leg over the a new Super Tenere and an FJR1300. The FJR has a seat height that is something like 2-3 inches lower than the ST, but it was like straddling a couch. Same reach on it as the much taller ST. Both are balanced soooo well. Seating position with the pegs mid instead of back is 100% what would put me on the ST, though. I so want one.

That said, it's going to have to wait. My buddy I'm visiting that I said was in a rough spot... well his rough spot just got worse. His wife got into an accident in their only vehicle tonight. She is okay and so were the people in the other vehicle. It was 2023 Ranger, front end was smashed, multiple airbags deployed. It'll be a helluva a thing if it's not totalled. Even if it's not, the UAW strike is killing parts availability.

Not only is it their only vehicle, but he uses it to pull his boat as fishing a guide. It is vital to his livelihood. Needless to say he's stressed like crazy, so I'll be diverting funds to help him get another rig on the road, and its going to be a ridiculous fight to get him to let me help. He can't make a living without something to drive/tow his boat, so he won't like it, but he doesn't have much of a choice.

 

Must be the old boy scout in me but I just can't understand anyone on a motorcycle not carrying at least a few tools with them. My FJR1300 is abut as reliable as a rock but I still keep a tool kit under the seat. SO far it's mostly been out to help others but it's there when I need it.

 

never needed a tool kit plus no place to even keep one on my bike so yup if it breaks it breaks oh well

 

Yeah boy scout moto, be prepared. This has got me thinking that I need to put together a little tool kit for my bike. It's a new bike but you never know?

 

My brother in law seemed a bit concerned when his shifter came loose, I asked him if his bikes had tool kits, he said no these bikes don’t breakdown Lol (maybe they don’t but you may still need to adjust something) I said no problem let me get my tool kit out we were 15 miles out with some rough terrain ahead of us, it would’ve been a really rough ride out!

Good on you for helping a buddy out. Been there, and sounds like you guys are close. Maybe he will get out there with you one day on a ride! You will find the right ST when the time is right…brapppp

Understood and I saw your post. You're doing the right thing helping your friend. Figured it wouldn't hurt to share it just in case. Looks like a pretty decent unit for the money. Wishing I hadn't looked over their website, they have a Moto Guzzi Norge that I've always been intrigued by for sale.

 

Did they not come with one stock like the DRZ? I think I still have the DRZ one somewhere
