Truck driver b.s.

Morning John.

 

So I get to work and my truck is gone. My truck wasn't broke, why is this my issue? Tired of this shit. Out of 4 trucks only 1 is on the road, 3 are broken.

 

I hate my job! So I get my truck back and while I'm waiting for the other driver to get his gear out so I can put mine in they are loading my trailer, get it halfway done by the time I come back inside. There's 5 skids in the nose that don't belong there, try and tell the no habla he needs to take them off, deer in the headlights look. So I have to tell his boss who is a English speaking Mexican my problem. She has to translate for him. Then he loads it wrong again, shoot me at this point, I go to the next pickup and have to get the trailer reloaded so I have room for the pickup.
Look I'm not a racist guy and I've had friends all my life of all different races but in a job position where you have to take instructions and communicate with people speaking English is important.
This is how my day has started, grrrr

It's FRIYAY!!!! Just want to get it done so I can enjoy the weekend. I got of at 9 hours yesterday so I came home and mowed the lawn, now my weekend is free of major chores. It's supposed to rain here so that means I get time in my woodshop. It's my therapy, my happy place, I forget all about the world when I'm in my shop. Turn the radio on for some tunes and make something.

Hahaha my buddy ran over a traffic cone and it got wedged in-between the tandem and drove something like 20 miles. Next pickup the guy came out with forklift and knocked it out. Hahaha

 

Carrying your own wheel chock ? That’s going above and beyond.

 

That would suck for someone if it came out and hit their windshield.
Day 2 off for me. Out grocery shopping with my girl, grabbing a burger at Culver's, then home to my woodshop. FUK WORK!

 

Well it’s about time to get back after it. Start a new job at 11:00 Gonna be spotting trailers at a customer site rather than driving. At this point I’ve about had enough of that. This will hopefully get me to retirement (4more years). It will also be the first time in nearly 40 years that I’ve had a job that has a definite quitting time! Excited about that.

 

That's awesome. Wish you all the best. Maybe I should do something like that. I have less than 4 years to go till retirement.

 

While I didn’t change by choice I think that I’ll be happier doing this. I was fully prepared to ride it out where I was even though I hated that job the last few years. Hopefully you will find something to your liking soon.

 

Will be a lot less stress than peddling. Glad you found something.

I'm trying to ease into retirement (114 working days) but someone's not gotten the memo...

It's a Monday, was rainy and drizzly all morning, just now clearing up. Driver called off today so I got a message to hussle up. I said I always do, no response. Fuk em.
