man that looks awesome! color me jealous lol. That waterfall picture should be an advertisement

Some bike updates from my weekend...Finally got the YZ back and it now kicks over on the 5-6th kick when cold, 1st time if it's warm. Consider me happy....still no real clue what the issue was as the valve clearance was still perfectly in spec, along with fuel pressure pump. he just pulled most of it apart, replaced seals, and cleaned up everything. Hopefully that's all it took, and I should have some time later this week to take it out and see how it does.

And going back to this post....while the road 6 still has plenty of life left in it, I didn't even bother to look at my front tires until after I took the bike back....I'll let you guys be the judge but I think I'm gonna take the bike back in a week or so to get new Dunlop Q5S in both the front and rear, and keep the rear of the road 6 to swap back on once the dunlop rear wars out.

I’ve been on Hondas for about 23 years lmao. I love Honda motorcycles. This was an impulse buy, a buddy at work was talkin about getting a bike so I checked my budget and went shopping :anonymous: no regrets!

Was there supposed to be a picture? You'll be much better off with two new Q5S tires.

lol whoops yes there was, here it is. but yeah that's what I'm thinking. get em a week or two before the track weekend to let em scrub in nicely but still be very fresh. Then save the lightly used Road 6 as a ready replacement when the Q5S rear goes

For anyone that may want to read it :D. I don't really have any complaints with this cheap HWK stuff. It does what I need it to do and was only $60 for jacket and pants  I may eventually upgrade to better stuff, but for now......it'll do pig...it'll do  For my uses, can't go worng with it.

I think it'd be perfect for someone getting into riding and not wanting or having the money to spend on high-end stuff.

Once you get bit by that two wheeled bug it’s an impossible addiction to kick. My gf has a Yamaha R3, and while its much lighter and smaller (engine) than my cbr, I still enjoy rippin it around town every once and a while…don’t tell anyone tho :anonymous::rofl:

Do the pants have aramid fibers or Kevlar? I’m lookin at some Milwaukee riding jeans with armor and aramid but kind of having a hard time justifying $100+ on jeans…

Hang around a bit longer and you'll see we're all a bunch of small bike hooligans. Absolutely no one in here gets shamed for having fun on a low CC motorcycle. I have a 125cc grom and a 140cc CT90 and they're both an absolute riot.

I would honestly call this padding over armor. It's one of those cases of "it's better than nothin" :D

The jacket has a zip in liner and 5 air vents. Been very warm yet comfortable on the rides into work during the morning.

Looks fine to me from where I'm standing. You'll probably go through that new set with the big bike and two days in a row.

I'm gonna say at best, it's rated at the lowest level  I've already put the pad back in the pants and now back to being lazy at work

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
It’s a lot of bike for the money, being new it’s a hard one to pass up on. Made in RC, Duke and ADV flavors.
You can find them super cheap and barely used on marketplace. Lots in the 5k range.

    This so much

the only shaming I've experienced is my own self-shame at being unable to be a part of the small bike shenanigans....yet

Thanks! Yeah it's a ridiculous story but kind of a fun memory.

The Duke 390s were under $6k OTD, RC's being more expensive due to the redesign with better electronics.

I have no idea, still haven't even taken the keys out of the bag they gave me to turn it on lol. Been too busy (yesterday was family stuff and been doing garage stuff today).

Speaking of garage stuff, I had to get this whole lot of stuff out of the living room:

    upload_2023-10-16_16-4-19.jpg

I had ended up selling the cap for my Pickup so I still had the chains and 2x4's sitting around from the ceiling mount, so I got a 4x8 sheet of plywood and some more 2x4s to make a platform.

    upload_2023-10-16_16-5-25.jpg

    upload_2023-10-16_16-5-35.jpg

Now it's a great storage place for more bike parts!

    upload_2023-10-16_16-6-16.jpg

    All chained up:

    upload_2023-10-16_16-6-29.jpg

Then my friend came over due to his headlight not working, removed it and found this:

    upload_2023-10-16_16-7-11.jpg

Soldered back together and now it works!

    upload_2023-10-16_16-7-27.jpg

It's like I'm finding reasons to not ride the KTM lol

If you get a chance to snag a pic of the actual garment tag, that would also help determine just how protective. But those pads are considered CE level 1 I believe, my merlin and bilt jackets came with the same. better than no impact protection, but not the best you could have.

why would you tell me that lol.

I'll measure the tread depth at some point during this week. I'm sure they would be fine since it's just the front that's mostly worn, but the organization I signed up for with my buddy has a 50% tread life requirement, and while I'm not opposed to buying a new tire at the track, I do wanna show up as prepared as possible.
