Happening on my new to me 2002 Tacoma. Light comes on so I try pushing the brake lever in, jiggle the handle, nothing happens. Then the light just goes off again on it's own. Does it have a sensor that's going bad? Anybody deal with this?

    Is the master full?

If yes. The switch at the enrake is likely dirty.

    Two different switches.

Float switch in the master, button switch in the vehicle.

Got out there with a flashlight, and yes it was a hair below minimum. I topped it off with some 25 year old fluid I had up in the shed, but I went a little over the maximum line. Hope this won't hurt. You guys are awesome, thanks!

At the earliest opportunity, flush your brake system, an '02 probably needs it anyway. Brake fluid attracts moisture over time, not good.
