Did you have to clearance anything up behind the bumper area to make it fit with the control box in the default position shown in your photo? Room to spare up behind there or a tight fit?

I wouldn't mount lights back there but there's room for an aux transmission cooler and supercharger intercooler.

This pic is from before the aux cooler and intercooler were installed.
    IMG_5028.jpg

At one point I tried to fit a lightbar behind the grille but when I mocked it up real quick it was clear that I'd need to relocate the control box...it would have been a pain to plug in the controller.

Awesome thanks, photos are quite helpful! And forgive me if you posted them before, I’ve read so many threads I can’t keep straight where all the info is or what I’ve already seen. Interesting how close that cross brace is above the winch spool, and how there is way more room near that AC line than I expected (figured of all things that would be in the way).

I believe Eric used the winch when designing the bumper...mine was the first 2nd Gen stingray he built.

Hello, I was wondering, if I went with the Warn VR Evo 10s do I need to buy the control pack relocation kit? And where would I relocate it to? Sorry if this is a noob question.

Assuming the images I saw online are correct, that winch appears to have the control pack located in the center. Based on photos above from @stickyTaco notice there is a cross brace right in the middle above the spool of line exactly where that control pack would be. So I’m going to say that yes you probably would need to relocate.

As far as where to put it that’s entirely up to you. Popular places are down by the winch but offset left/right of center, up above the winch behind the grille/in front of the radiator towards the passenger side, or passenger side of the engine bay. You may have to make your own custom mounting solution for any of these spots, or search for solutions on the aftermarket.

Edit: Also look at post #41 to see more photos of the cross brace:

I was able to fit it without the relocation kit. I had to grind and bend the cross brace that Adam is talking about. But was able to make it fit without much room to spare.

In most cases I'd be recommending just cutting out that center sheet metal support bar in order to clear the winch control pack on any winch, unless you want to relocate it higher up for ease of access to plug in a remote.

on another note, just got all the parts from the laser cutter to build these out. I still have some other, more pressing, bumpers to bend up and get into production but these will be built some time in October

Yes, extremely excited! Having trouble containing myself, ready to hurt my credit card buying a winch. I'm really hoping I can get one in my hands before the snow and salt begin to fly come December because I don't know if I could wait all the way until spring to install it.

I’m trying to hold off for Black Friday deals for the winch. I have the luxury of weather being on my side in the Southwest so I’m lucky there. Good luck man!

I am!!!! Working on getting my warn VR12-S fixed and ready to go.

Thinking of going with moose knuckle split jowls shackles.

    https://moose-knuckle.com/products/jowl-recovery-shackle-flame-red

Was also looking at a factor 55 pro link winch line shackle mount but then I remembered I already have a fishbone fishhook mount in black from the last vehicle this winch was on.

    https://www.extremeterrain.com/fish...-fishhook-winch-line-mount-black-fb21094.html

Doing some other small mods to hold me over till the bumper comes. Mail man dropped off a sy-klone precleaner today for my snorkle.
