Anyway around reprogramming an ABS unit

As far as the low brake pedal I don't think so, without power to Pin 2 and Pin 31 it's unable to activate any of the solenoids or the ABS pump.

 

Yeah, wasn’t sure what if that would cause the high/low voltage.
Not sure what pins are monitored in that strategy?

As for the pedal.
Sounds like air or a leak.
Who knows?

If anything, it’d be nice to have brakes.
Even if there is no ABS.

I curious as to when the ABS kicks in.
Instantly or randomly when the brake pedal is pressed.

 

I tried to upload a video but I guess it was too big. About 59 seconds worth. Yes it is capable of reading wheel speeds. I did have a RR that kept dropping out completely. The other 3 was dead on or 1 MPH off but the RR kept dropping completely out. Yes it was the right side that hit the pot hole. I was already on my brakes and when it hit it came out of the hole like I was on a snowy road or something. SMH. I replaced all 4 wheel speed sensors but now the RR is dropping out. An now for some dumb azz reason my computer won’t even clear those codes. Don’t have a clue on why but it cleared the engine codes where I had the ABS unhooked to take it a small drive to see if I had good brakes or not.

 

I have looked the whole system over and over. I see no leaks.

 

If the wheel speed works, but drops out while braking, that may cause the ABS to kick in.
It thinks the rear wheel is locking up.

Does the RR work sometimes, and then drop out?
Or is it always “way off”, or totally dropped out all the time?

 

Saturday when I changed the ABS pump / whole unit the when I took it a drive the motor was kicking in the whole time till I pulled the fuses out. Now with that said it never made a sound setting in my driveway.

 

ABS doesn’t kick in until you’re moving.
It wont come on sitting still.
If it does…..we got big problems.

 

I never hit the brakes really to see if it was dropping out. Just driving and it would bottom out to nothing then be right back up to speed with the rest of them. For example. 70 all 4 of them then like 10 or 0 while the others would read 70.

 

Well I got many problems and no brakes is one of them. Lol

 

That’s a problem.
Like a problem that cause the ABS to kick in.

That would seem like a broken wire more than a failed sensor.

 

Broken wire ? Like part of the RR speed sensor’s wiring harness ?

Either the harness between the sensor and ABS module, the sensor wire itself, or a bad connection in the sensor connector.

Between the sensor and ABS module that to me is going to be very difficult to find. If I’m thinking right. Between the 2 parts are about 15 feet guessing if that seems right.

 

Look it over good.
If you can’t did a bad spot.
We can help with diagrams.

pull the connector on the RR and check the pins good.

 

Sorry but I get nothing but white pages. Are they an app I can download in order to see those ?

 

Well the most obvious first thing would be to look at any wiring that could have been damaged by hitting the pothole.
