I hate blowing leaves, but when you start this thing after 2-3 pulls since it’s sat untouched for 10 months makes it better!

    I have one of those!

Mine sits a lot as well. It much prefers non-ethanol fuel.

I'm a little south of you, so my fall clean-up has not started yet. Another week or so...

At least you have a backpack blower! I was using a handheld one for 2 years and it sucked! Finally broke down and bought a Husqvarna 580bts and now I enjoy blowing leafs! Amazing how easy it is now.

The GT500 is still my most utilitarian tool at the house. Tore the Tacoma down in front of the shop door, found a broken R&P, so winch line to the loader bucket it was to move the truck out of the way

if you ever need parts on your deere when ordering be sure to note you need US model parts. my neighbor just trashed his radiator screen on his 3 series. replacement wasnt correct as they shipped the out-of-states version.

I was hoping to get this back together Friday evening, UPS dropped the ball. 1st time they've ever done that to me and it makes me mad because I had the option to use USPS or UPS, I paid an extra dollar for UPS. It said it was out for delivery by 7 p.m., at 7:32 it changed to today :annoyed:

This will be the 3rd carb in 15 years on this one. I run the same gas from the same can with the same stabilizer in both Stihl’s and the Husqvarna. The other Stihl and husky haven’t been touched, the husky was bought in 1994.

Head gasket time. I'll change them both to be safe.

Hope to have it tore down by 11.

    It ain't head gasket problems...

Was turning the flywheel by hand and thought that it turned kind of easy for having both plugs in place.

Probed the pistons with a long screwdriver after removing the plugs.

Only 1 piston was moving as I rotated the flywheel!

    Yep, broke connecting rod.:angrygirl:

The oil was extremely discolored. There was a huge amount of water in the crank case that was not imulsified. This engine had water intrusion to a heavy degree. I'm wondering if it was hydrolocked.

The carnage sure indicates that may have been the case.

I've never seen a piston in the jug sideways!

    Anyone need any 25hp parts?

    This block is faqued!
