I cant do this weekend and I want to do my reroute done before messing with other peoples stuff. Welds on a bench is just one small portion of it.

Id also like to have better quality before I do it for others. I am not great with fluxcore.

Got alot going on so I am not sure when I will be able to offer 304 welding for others.

Field and forest is wild. Greens there seem like blue/reds anywhere else. Went there a bunch with my brother with his toyota pickup, and his friends in buggies.

I've seen videos, watched one where this buggy backed into a tree and pre-spooled the turbo before dumping the clutch to try and get up one of the hills. My truck could never hahaha

Well, seeing your bench welds compared to the ones on the exhaust, yours is already better as is. Honestly for me, as long as it doesn’t leak, I’m good with it. Make it boogery and we can just grind and paint it down.

Just keep us posted. It looked like you were making good progress fast.

Yeah its a tough spot, I prefer to put out better quality work than that but like quality and fluxcore dont go together. But if I got a Tig setup (~$1500k just to start), spent the hood time and learned that, I would be forced to charge more than I think is reasonable for a reroute. I gotta do some more thinking on this.

Tig setup isnt the first thing I would invest that kind of cash into either. I feel a cnc plasma would make me much more productive and increase overall build quality more.

Yea my buddies on 37s with cages go there a couple times a year lol

Lol. I have to do valve cover gaskets, plugs, oil change, blower motor resistor, and a check over on my buddy's 2012 this Saturday and then after that I'll be pulling it in and tearing into it.

I'm still debating on how I want to go about it but I think it's just going to be a gasket kit and coolant and only replace what needs to be replaced. Cylinder 1 walls are fucked and cylinder 3 aren't too much better

Do you have a stick welder?

I have a spare scratch start torch, and hose I can send ya to try out.

Just need pure argon, your regulator. I have a pedal, but, those are machine specific.
Just sitting in a box, wouldn't be anything to send ya...

My welder can stick weld, one question is I had with that setup is I assume I cannot use a pedal sense there is no input for power control with mig (other than on the machine).

Maybe I can justify another tank sense I will be able to use that to spoolgun aluminium....

Hate to butt in here but I'd prefer not to start a new thread.

Anyone one know of a thread that talks about 3rd gen (2019 over here) bed lights? I have seen a few but not with specifics draws.... I recently installed the harness for the Amazon bed lights but I intend to set up a marine flood light instead. I just am curious if anyone knows how much can be drawn from the OEM bedlight (squid launcher) circuit as that is what I am wired into. I don't want to go blowing fuses or shorting items...or melting the new harness now under my body but I need to get an idea of what I'm limited to in terms of light choices.

    Thanks much!

What machine do you have, I can check if one of my pedals is compatible.
But, truth be told, for most stuff, I don't, or I use a thumb switch. Hell, the torch has a know for gas flow.

Some machines have it, and some you can tap into the mig trigger when switched over(since it sounds like you have a multi process).

I don't believe there is a specific thread for that.

I would not suggest using a marine flood light directly off of the bed light wires, as those are VERY thin and don't push out a whole lot of power.
I would personally suggest using the bed light wires to trigger a relay for your lights, that way you can avoid all your worries.

If you Amazon bed lights wiring harness has a decent gauge wire on it, then you can use that directly.
