I gave you the part number for the right parts- Rockford 2540.

You can ask that question however you want, but welding the wrong u joint caps in place is just a bad idea.

As mentioned, the only other option to the right parts is to take it to a drive shaft shop and they can cut out the cardan and weld a new one in.

    Welding is a BAD idea.
Why doesn't the cap fit? What is the reason????
Did you install the wrong Universal?

Welding will boil the grease out and will make the universal prone to early failure. Not to mention the damage to the seals and the hardness of the needle bearings.

Stick with OEM for the driveshafts.

If you have to replace them, it’s because you didn’t grease them. These fawkers have lifetime driveshafts if you pump some grease into them every once in a while.

Toyota U-Joints are stronger than won ton (1350) joints.

What engine, transmission, and are you 2wd or 4wd ? I assume you have a 6 lug truck to have a 6" lift...

Measuring could be "off" based on where the slip yoke is. I think usually when you measure for a drive shaft, you measure from the flange on the transmission/xfer case to the pinion flange.

I think your options are limited, and you need a direct match from another 2.7L 4x4 auto extra cab.

Have you tried a search on car-part.com ? It looks like there are many drive shafts available for your model.
