Yea the general rule of thumb up there is whatever the trail is rated, it's AT LEAST one color harder. NEA basically finishes regular wheeling season there with an event called "Humble Pie" I'm sure you can conclude why

Yeah, I saw that one as well......that is complete lunacy for anyone that doesn't have a modified buggy......and even then you have to have balls of titanium....
At this point, from seeing pictures from AOAA from @Brownmatthall and others, I am either going to make "quick dis-connects" for my tail lights to take them off before wheeling, or just keep a spare set with me at all times lol

Lol that's part of the reason I switched to high clearance rear with the tube sides

They're cheap enough in the BST section/ marketplace, having a spare set would be wise lol

@AllTacosFloat I did some messing around with simulations. These are approximate for the rear scrub bars out of 1.75" x 0.120". These are all 2k lbs (this may be excessive) going directly into the midspan of the tube.

0.50" is a lot of deflection for me. At 1k lbs it was around 0.25". Stresses are high around the mounting points but those should be easy to gusset.

I can toss the box in the mail, send it up if you want to give it a whirl, think there is only 1 cup in there, and a few pieces of 2% thoriated (red tip) tungsten as well. And adapter, and a dinse adapter....
Kinda dusty, but good shape. Haven't even looked in the box since I moved up here....
    Wanna give it a whirl?

I dont even see what happened. I got curious when I saw this video where they tied it into the roofrack and wanted to see if that was necessary.

No worries. I'll send it up. The consumables are just that, not worries. If you decide it., work for you, and you like it, we can talk about $. Otherwise, it's just collecting dust on shelf here. I'll PM for address. Try to get it out today or tomorrow.
Besides, John knows where you live....lol

Ooooohhh, don't get me started... I have some serious ideas.... I can cause all sorts of expensive mods for a flatbed....lol

Like I said bad light, but it starts behind the rear door with dents and ends with scratches at my tree savers. I’ll get a better pic when the Sun wants to cooperate

Sounds good, Ill give it a try when my bottle runs out. Not sure when thatll be. I'll do a bottle of argon in a 40 cuft then get a 90 or 125 for C25.

Too many people on here know my home address to pull a Explore overland....

    Ok, now that is slick.
You should design bolt on applications for this. Like, have short tubes welded to the slider and bumper, but then have those bolt to the full thing.

All good. And no worries. And very true. I have SSO on the front of my Tacoma...

RCI for skids and sliders, etc.

I wanted to build a coastal HC for the rear, but, since I'm selling my diesel, I need to be able to maintain a reasonable hitch, and I've done enough B/S with insurance companies the last 18months, to NOT use a fabbed hitch(long story).

Was going to finish my flatbed, bought a gantry and everything, to make pulling it, easier... now.... well... it's just sitting..and outside.

Thats the plan for Johns, We are thinking maybe using some roll cage parts to make them removable.

Those are interesting, even going to ARBs website there is no info about what they are made of. (other than 2.375" tube). I expected more techincal details from arb.
