Personally I've never understood expensive men's haircuts. I just sit there for 15 mins and get the same basic cut every 6 months. If anything I feel like I'm THEIR therapist sometimes - I feel obligated to make chit chat even though I don't want to. 20 bucks + tip max, I'm not tipping for other people's annoyances

I should rephrase, it's $20 but $5 extra for trimming my beard and shaving my face (straight razor only)

You have a bad barber if you're their therapist

Takes a certain someone for them to deal with touching people's hair and cutting it in various styles (not just for you, but anyone else walking in)

Doin alrite. New house is fantastic, I got one room painted and have made a lot of progress on unpacking. Shop is still a mess, just haven’t been around enough to do anything with it.

In theory I’m going camping with the gf and her kids this weekend, then doing race communications for a trail run the weekend after, with a visit from mom somewhere in the middle.

no new projects , wanna get the house done first. Was thinking about stuffing framework laptop parts in my old thinkpad the other day though

Hows your house? Any new house pains?

Too much work for a daily shave, my beard is coarse and will turn a regular multiblade razor into garbage in less than half my face. Been using a Leaf Twig single edge razor for a bit and it holds up to a few shaves before I eat a blade thankfully. I don't have sensitive skin which seems to be people's only complaint wit single edge razors usually

Sorta want to get there for that exact reason lol, then I have little excuse not to
Plus styling my hair is always annoying - it never does what I want

The key is consistency. Shave it regularly and people just accept it as it is.

On the other hand, I haven’t shaved anything in a week and I’ve got a customer to give stupid bad news to in the morning. That trusty Mach 3 in my travel kit is going to do glorious battle once I get back to the room.

If you're at a hotel they usually have free razors. Can't hurt to knock down the big stuff with a cheapo Bic first

Worth an ask. Maybe they could get me rubbing alcohol and some matches if razors are too much.

    Hell yea

Just as long as you remember, takes but a few days to buy a house, but it takes a lifetime to make it a home

No rush to get things done! It ain't going anywhere

Can't wait to see the shop put together, you have all sorts of room to have a woodshop on one side and metal shop on the other

No projects here, not until next year and that's hardscaping the back yard

I just love the clean feeling after the barber runs a straight razor over my face

The beard is just to clean up; my beard grows too fast and I run a trimmer to edge it down every 2 days...it's that bad

But would like to learn how to use a straight razor on my cheeks/face
