As proof that Wrenchmen can also be men of culture we have Abstract Art with Rusty, a study in galvanized metal.

    KIMG3424.jpg

    Tools of the job:

    KIMG3425.jpg

I got the metal shears awhile ago at HF, this is the first I have used it. The rotary cutter has been with me 25 years - I had forgotten how loud it is...

The project, a return air plenum for a furnace. Making a simple box was more difficult than I anticipated. :annoyed:
Built to my usual standards - done is better than perfect. ;)
It comes as a kit and you trim to fit - over $150...

    KIMG3427.jpg

I got the furnace on the road trip way up in northern NY last month - 300 miles round trip. This one is propane and 95% efficient, the oil furnace gave up after 50 years. :(

Some rework needed, this is the drip leg for the gas line. o_O

    KIMG3428.jpg

The old oil furnace is about 3 times the size of this one, I'll have to take it apart to get it out of the cellar. :ballchain:

Better views of the business end of the metal shears, it worked very nicely.
Cut smooth and is easy to modulate the speed, nice tool.

Traditionally, I believe these are pre-enjoyed items. I'm hoping the same standard applies here.

    Good morning friends!

Cole and I dug some holes and planted some post yesterday (mostly me digging and him planting) after getting the mower back together. Hopefully they'll grow a shed this week.

When we get this 12' added on it'll be 72' wide X 36' deep.

I got a camera system from Amazon when we moved in, I added another one to it yesterday pointing to the clover behind the shop so we don't have to keep walking to the window to see if deer are out back :infantry:

Don't neglect to water those posts in as they need a good 8 inches of water slowly over 3 hours. Do that 3x a week for about month then you can back off to natural watering. Typical shed growth starts in early spring when the beams start budding, with a full shed covering mid to late summer. It's good that you got the posts in before the frost, allows ample time for the roots to get established. Hopefully you have a bountiful harvest next year. You can trust me, I studied shedology in community college 20 years ago.

I took it off the front of the store when we left, they are changing the name of the store. It's been up for a long time, has moss growing on it from the oak tree it was under, I didn't try to clean it off.

There's another one in the shop :D

    Belated good morning everyone :hattip:

@six5crèéd , wondering what kind of snow loads you need to prep for down there? I don’t think that shallow of a slope would last up here without some significant support…

Just did a search for average snowfall in our area, it's 9". Hopefully we won't get much more than that. It's over engineered just in case
