It is recommended yes. You should cycle 12" or more depending on your shock setup.

    Hey,

I run a set of Stage 3s on mine. I'll try and dig up some pics under load and under daily load conditions to use for comparison. However, I will say that they have been handling the additional weight added from mods and then some. I have a pretty heavy setup with a full set of steel skids, steel brush guard, winch, etc. and they ride fairly firm. I personally like how firm they ride without load, and absolutely love how well they control higher loads. My one gripe would be that I do hear a little bit of squeak/creaking during very slow driving with low background noise, but under typical driving it is not very noticeable. If you feel you would benefit from the extra control when loaded down then I would say absolutely go for it while keeping in mind the front coils as well. I ended up swapping my coils to a 700lb rate and the stiffness perfectly matches the rear stage 3s.

I run Deaver Stage 3 with easily 1000lbs in the rear... In the 6 months, they've been on the ride and quality has been great, I have no more sag or bed jitters. I also run them with @ARCHIVE garage Hammer Hangers and Bilsteins 5160s.

Thanks for posting this. For other readers here, we've been on Version 3 of Hammer Hangers for past 2 years, which DON'T LIFT and are the highest clearance hangers on the market.

Version 3 has the normal HH position or also can be moved forward to stock position with extra provided bolt holes in HH

    Version 3 updates:

I have been running Deaver stage 3 for about a year now. I upgraded from Icon AAL which I clapped out after about 6 years, they were flatter than a pancake. (King OEM extended shocks fr/rr)
I have a GFC V2 and a CBI rear bumper with spare and hi-lift.
I don’t know my daily vehicle weight but loaded for camping I’m pretty sure I’m exceeding 700+. I noticed a BIG rake with an empty bed (before GFC, bumper) but now it’s not so drastic. I also have the Archive HH.
My opinion, go with the stage 3. ***My personal experience*** I had a moderate vibration that came from the driveshaft. I had to extend it by about 2” due to it being pulled out at the transmission output shaft (2wd). Also added shims to fix driveline angle.

Is there any way to convert stage 2 to stage 3? I think I might have screwed up and should have done stage 3 from start with all the weight I'm adding...probably need 14" 650lb coils up front too or add more preload...build advanced quicker than I thought....

Deaver used different thickness of leaf between s2 and s3. So no direct conversion. Deaver does make a AAL. Call Deaver and see what they say.

I'm looking at Deaver stage 3 as well, I have 850-900 added on my rear but I'm just looking for 1.5" lift only, as that's where my shocks are rated. 2" might work with the shocks but if Deaver stage 3 lifts more than 2" at 850 lbs then I might have to go custom. Packed for a trip I could easily be 1100 but not go over 1200 lbs. Anyone else got over 2" lift at 800 to 900 lbs with stage 3?

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
I would call Deaver and ask. When I was that heavy I would say I was definitely at 2" and not less. I removed a significant amount of weight and I'm still at roughly 2" maybe a touch more. If you're looking for 1.5" at your everyday weight and can live with maybe 1" fully loaded you MIGHT want to think of stage 2? But I have no experience with stage 2 so I'd give them a call and ask what they say.

I have stage 3 and I love them, I had the Dakar heavy duty leaf pack but they would squeak horribly and they started to sag with a gfc. I no longer have my gfc and don’t have any load but still have the stage 3 and drives just fine no extended brake lines and I have 5160s been running it like that without issues about 20k miles so far knock on wood

My original plan was all pro expedition which is same weight rating as deaver but a 3" lift. I called all pro and they recommended the deaver stage 3, so nothing on 1.5" lift for my weight . But found out all pro and Deaver are made by same company

When was your vibration? I think Im dealing with that currently with my setup. I calculated my weight to be at the lower end of the S3. So I think I need more weight. I used to have 35s, and don't particularly remember a vibration.

GFC V2, Bruteforcefab rear high clearance/swingout, and 285s. Basically nothing in the bed.

Isnt Deaver made by Deaver? I would be hard pressed to say they are the same. Deaver has been around since 1898 or something like that.

AllPoo doesn't have that great reputation
