    And I haven't seemed to find any off road shops around here. Apparently, people in Minnesota don't do too much off-roading...

    Yea 200 is alot to weld up 8 plates, Same problem around here not offroad shops, I was lucky to be able to get my hands on a welder

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    if nothing else, check a muffler shop and tell them EXACTLY what u want done and they shoul dbe able to do it

    I have to agree with the others in finding a good welder. Those Midas guys are kind of "Jack of all automotive trades"... they dont specialize in welding custom jobs. And for the price they probably use a "this job takes x hrs to complete" labor rate, regardless of how long it actually takes them.

    Nice truck, by the way.

    I actually found a garage that does mechanical repairs as well as custom fabrication. They did a good job welding them on...

    When you weld on the frame, either Mig or Arc, do you disconnect the Negative on the battery b-4 you weld?

    I think your supposed to, so as to not damage the ECU and other electronics on board.

    I havent discod the battery though when welding on the truck. :eek:
