Between tonight n tomorrow night, quick maintenance on the dirtbike n swapping to a paddle tire for this weekends up coming sand dune shenanigans in Pismo. Second air filter oiled n swapped with the dirty one, flag mount on tonight, just need to swap rear tires tomorrow.

Back to back dirtbike trips with some work sprinkled in there. I NEEDED this!

I really don't think it needs more power. I kind of wrote it off at first because I figured the engine would be similar to the DRZ400 but it's so smooth and usable.

I did make a video of my first ride and impressions. Any feedback or criticism would be helpful!

    Watching now!

I've had a few beers, (fuck yeah Space Dust) so you're getting my uncensored thoughts

    1) try to limit side to side tilting head movements, barf city for some haha (panning is good and fine, but the tilt gets folks)
    2) Hand gestures go a long way when you're talking through your helmet and showing something, Zach Courts is really good at it during is bike walkarounds (keep in mind he has years of practice on you haha). Talking about the dash? Point at the dash. Said a question? Shrug with your hands palms up kinda thing.
    3) Your audio is sounding great. Wind noise is pretty damn minimal, even when you hop on the highway.
    4) Watched you lane split and simultaneously winced and got so jealous
    5) Canva has some really easy-to-use options for making easy thumbnails with good text options for free. my views went way up when I started putting like ten or fifteen minutes of effort into the thumbs, bottom two I did on my iphone, top four I did on Canva when I switched it up, for example.

    upload_2023-10-17_22-26-43.png
I'll also usually zoom it out to approx phone thumbnail size and make sure I can still easily read the text.

    6) You're saying things are great, great compared to what? Or why is it great? Brakes are great, ok why? "Really instant bite with pretty impressive lever feel, doesn't feel squishy at all, man that's a great brake and exactly what I'm looking for" paints a prettier picture of what you're experiencing.
    7) I'm still jealous :anonymous:

Glad you made a video on it, hopefully you keep making them and most importantly keep having fun making them.

ive ridden the 390 naked bike they have and it was rather gutless in the older models so maybe they changed something on this one?

Thank you so much! This is super helpful.

    Just a few responses:

    1. Regarding the head movements, I winced so badly when I saw how shaky it was. I didn't realize the camera would be so sensitive to my head movements (duh) so next time I know to keep my head still.
    2. Good point on hand gestures, I was just trying to get the words out and I forgot about my hands. :D
    3. I did get a fancier mic on Amazon ($35) so I'm happy it works pretty well. The audio in the beginning of the clip actually kind of sucks because the mic fell out of my helmet haha
    4. Lane splitting is the only reason I don't want to leave CA at this point.
    5. Thanks for the Canva tip! I am terrible with anything design related so this is very helpful.
    6. I think the main problem I have is trying to keep things fast paced enough so I don't drone on and on and make it boring. I ended up cutting a lot of stuff out because I felt it wasn't relevant. I guess that will come with time?
    7. Get one!! (or at least come ride mine if you're ever in the area!)

Hmm I don't think so, I thought the engine was largely carried over minus a few reliability improvements.

Tucked away for winter. I think the Grom is a great piece of entryway decor.

idk how some people fit a bike in a house or apartment lol mine is a tad wide with its bars plus no easy way to even attempt to put it inside!

It's like the spot was meant for a Grom!
