I found out how the water got in.

Whoever was in this motor before was a hack!

I found many broken bosses, thus missing fasteners.

As I was wiping up the excess oil inside the block, I thought I noticed light shining in from the flywheel side of the block(top).

Sure enough, someone used too long of a bolt and blew out the bottom of the bolt hole boss. This bolt is used to hold the sheetmetal shield that hold the stator wiring away from the bottom of the flywheel. The bolt was missing.

This machine lived outdoors, so there was a straight path for rainwater to enter the crankcase.

The only thing I can think is the case was so full of water it pushed past the reed valve, then flowed down the exhaust valve stem into the combustion chamber.

If they only would have checked the oil level and found it over full, this engine would still be running.

I guess I'm going engine hunting. Don't have one of these laying around.

    Sooooo.

Just to clarify, checking your oil every time you use your mower, is important.

    Low oil is bad.

    High oil level is catostropic!

Much more damage will occur with a flooded crank case!

Sorry about your find yesterday @koditten :pout:

On a positive note I got the Kawasaki back together and going, I need to adjust the governor where it comes out of the engine and it should be good to go. I did mow the yard with it yesterday and it ran good. I also adjusted the valves while I had it on the bench, they were extra loose.

No wrenching today. Found out what was getting in the shop and chewing the insulation.

    These things are destructive!

Apparently I got a ground squirrel infestation.

Off to get some rat traps.

Picked up a donor mower. Engine is going into the ZT that had the Command engine grenaded.

Gonna take some McGyvering, but that's the fun part.

    FBMP is a powerful tool.

When sellers are on their "A" game, it makes it kind of fun.

I do truly believe their are 10 ass hat sellers per every seller that plays the game correctly.

Where are you located at? I have a ROPS that maybe will fit your B7100. I will have to check it though as it is in my storage at the moment. I'm in Ohio for the record. I bought it for my B4200, but it does not fit without modification. I believe it has a tag on it with some numbers of models it fits.
