No welding today, but made myself a angle grinder holder for the table

I'm considering a partial shelf for consumables and that sort of thing, but I'm not sure what I want to use to hold my magnets as I have a ton

I haven't bought metal in a few weeks, this is all from my left overs

Neighbor is buying 4 pumpkins from me so I cut them out of that steel sheet I made my angle grinder holder from

If another order comes in for anything at all, I'll have to buy more and then I'll make more cool shit

    @weldertaco

Just because you asked me to stop, I heard that as "make more"

Neighbor saw ours and wanted to buy some so I made these a bit smaller than my own

Also, need to do another purge

Gathered a ton of scrap and got it piled up ready to go

That includes tossing the table top I had on the HF stand

Just to try to be on your level. I went out and took photos of my super duper cool rack to post for sale.

I hope you made a jig so you can get the bends done right away, place said tube on jig, and quickly weld it up

that's always the never ending debate with budget designs. could the table be properly reinforced and still be cheaper than a nicer table?

i'm sure some could. but anyone that starts to use a table like this seriously, it's just not worth it in the long run. this has no resale, where a nice table would likely have a decent amount of resale if kept in good shape.

For the novice, it's a capable table. Easy to outgrow however.

And for the cost, it's better to go with the cheaper HF variant until one figures out what they really want and then fork out the money.

I'd definitely start out on the cheap side. You will find out soon enough if the quality is ok.- I bet it is.

If fabrication ain't your bag, you aren't out a huge amount of coin.

Used fab equipment, regardless of high or low quality doesn't sell for much. You are still losing money when you sell.

Might as well start on the less spendy stuff and find out if fabrication works for you.

It'll go here in this particular spot and would be a perfect little shelf for my fab squares and whatnot

Id like to get into Tig welding. No idea where to start. But pet peeve of mine is dont want a beginner machine, that I might grow out of if I like it. I want something that I can grow into.

Id probably be doing steel mostly, but I do have interest in stainless, aluminum and titanium. Any ideas on what machine to look into? One that kinda popped out at me was an Everlast Powertig 200DV. Thoughts?

Im so torn on paying for a class on fusion 360 to be able to CAD stuff like that. So cool to be able to see the part before you actually build it.

I wouldnt pay for a class, there is plenty of free online help for all the tools.

I'd just download it and start drawing the best you can, when you don't know how to do something google is your friend.

Time is limited in my life. Getting taught properly from the beginning could save me a ton of hours on trial and error and YouTube.

I learned stuff like this in 5 minutes; I wouldn't pay for a class.
