For anyone interested, we just got back from a week+ long adventure in Southern Utah. Light on the offroading and camping but we covered a lot of ground and saw a lot of epic scenery. I'm working on a full write-up in the "trip reports' section of the forum.

A teaser because I like you guys:

Hahaha yeah you got lucky. Took some medication and a fifth of JD last night and feel much better today. Wife worked on her flooring while I passed out around 7 last night. How did your trip go?

Edit: Just saw the pics. Looks gorgeous! Cant wait to read the write up.

OK. I just happened to see a brand new Bronco Wildtrack across the street, being used for FedEx package delivery. The lady was nice and gave me a complete tour of her 2 day old truck, er SUV.

Oh to be 10 years younger, I'd go into debt for one of those.

The Bronco and Ranger Raptor both have me pushing the Mrs. to upgrade lol. Little be it me to give Ford any love, but it looks like they've done pretty well on both builds.

Until you get nailed in an intersection and are a waiting list for Bronco parts for 2 years - my buddy back home in Atlanta just got his fixed from January 2022.

Its time for the wife to get a new daily and she is wanting a Bronco. Of course I priced out a bronco raptor. And holy shit. They are nice tho. Drove my buddies and I really like it.

I just have to remind myself that buying a base model is just asking for me to give away more money in the long run.

I'm cool with her having an out of the box experience that I can play in every once in a while. If she ends up with a Ranger Raptor like I know she wants, I'm gonna have little wiener syndrome, but at least it's not full size! lol

I looked hard at Bronco and T4R before I bought out the Tacoma and go full build on it. On paper Bronco pretty much has everything you'd want to build but from the factory. At the end of the day part of it was bad timing (still too new for long term reviews) and the other part is I just couldn't get past the whole is still a Ford thing.

Anyone have a recommendation for paint? Got a big deep scratch on the tailgate (plus the chips from before) and now I think it definitely needs a professional.

Doesn't have to be perfect like it never happened, but I know the nail polish brush on stuff is gonna look like dogwater.

That's one of the big reasons I end up unabashedly shilling BD to anyone who asks me about lights.:rofl:

The replaceable lenses is such a clutch feature. Right now I just have a pair of combo S2's on low profile ditch light mounts, but I'm considering switching to wide cornering and kicking them outwards, then putting a 20" spot behind the front grille.

I find ditch lights help with just general eye strain. It's not as spooky having well lit peripheral vision, even if it's near field and mostly illuminating brush and cacti.

Compared to my taco where I had the sampler platter of BD lights on the front of it, I gotta step my game up here on the 4R:

    20231018_152939.jpg

I know it's not a popular style but I'm digging the scoopless, rackless, streamlined look. Just needs more lumens.;)

    I am all ears.

I kissed my tailgate with a high lift and it annoys me more than it should

I had caliber in the Scottsdale airpark blend in a big rock chip I took on the hood. Was about size of pinky nail and down to sheet metal.
They did a really good job you'd never know it happened or was repainted.
Edit: 5 years later now and still can't tell it was done.

I’ve been thinking about slick topping my 4R, but I just got it so I need to see how much I use the roof rack first, before ditching it. I dig the streamlined look. For now, it gets a basket because I have a feeling I’ll need all the storage I can get for my first family camping trip this weekend.

Is this your first camping trip in AZ then? How exciting, you've explored on your bike a bit too. So so many good places in all direction to camp this time of year!
