I first broke my wrist at school 8th grade, playing baseball. Then it just never healed right. They took the cast off once, I went home and re-broke it buttoning my 501 jeans.
I was also a skater in the 80's and 90's. Skateboards are dangerous.

 

Let's count, 8 broken wrists, 3 broken thumbs, every toe and finger, ankle in 2 places, umpteen ribs, and the collar bone.
BTW, breaking the big toe sucks.

All I can think re: ER - is it really that bad that I wanna sit in a waiting room with a bunch of rando sickos for 8+ hr to be told something I already know and PAY for the experience...
Absolutely not. I'd have to be legit dying to put myself thru that. Or be able to feel the broken bone.
[UNC has an ortho ER for only broken shit - that may be slightly better but I'm not tryin to find out]
I got a couple of friends that can put stitches in if super glue won't work.

 

I sat next to a guy in a ER waiting room, he had 3 of his fingers in a ice filled cooler. The guy sat there for 3 hours with them. Why? You might ask, because there were 4 gunshot victims and 6 stab wounds that were more of an emergency than his missing fingers.

 

Last time I tried to go to the ER - not long after my spine got fused and I couldn't feel my legs..

There was this car sitting outside - full of bullet holes.

I waited a few hours and then gave up; I could still walk, just couldn't feel shit.
Two weeks later, I could feel my legs again so -pfft-

 

I broke my back as well. When my son became 20lbs, I already had a herniated disc. Then it went what they call "extruded ". My disc looked like the number "7". They gave me a cortisone shot and I couldn't sit or lay down for over a week. Had to sleep standing up and couldn't feel anything from the waist down

car accident - woman made a left right in front of me, her vehicle weighed 2x my car, like hitting a brick wall at 40mph

disk was protruding onto my spinal column and i couldn't really walk; i just dragged my left leg around..
so now 4 screws and two plates are in there holding the vertebrae where they should be and i think they just took the disc out and put a cage with some bone fragments in there..
usually feels like my legs are wrapped in barbed wire and sometimes it feels like my femurs are being stabbed with large knives - it is a good time, lemme tell ya!

I understand more than you know
Both my legs felt like 100lbs, my brother has had neck and back surgery with full cages and fusions. My mom had 9 surgeries on here neck, took part of her femur trying to fuse. Didn't work, she ended up with 12 screws and a plate, then one of the screws popped loose. They couldn't fix it, so the installed a pump to deliver pain meds directly to the spot.
I know more about this shit than anyone.

 

Yes, I also broke it opening a bottle of coca cola.

 

What was more horrible, was the drugs they put me on, got me addicted to and refused to help me get off of.
That shit almost killed me.
Oh and when they put me on said drugs - I asked, point blank, "isn't this just Rx heroin" and those fuckers swore up/down/sideways that it was not Rx heroin; if i could kick those two 'doctors' in the balls, I would.
My dumbass with a couple semesters of college chemistry knew better so they have no excuse.

I am grateful - my fusion went well; everything solidified/stayed put.
The drugs after, not so much so - but I cleared that hurdle and I would rather deal with the pain than that shit..
I have found a path of exercise that keeps things at a minimum level and when it gets real bad, I just think about how awful the pain drugs made me feel. The actual pain is way better than the psychological torture of being addicted/physically dependent on that shit.

 

Super detailing the truck . Glass , all the black plastic stuff with Mothers Back to Black . Little bit inside the engine bay . The black rubber trim around windows . Some Graphine ceramic detailer for the water spots from washing yesterday . I should have clay barred it yesterday and waxed it but I’m too lazy and my shoulders are shot along with all the other aches and pains . @amyracecar + @tcjacado you guys got me beat with all those stories of broken bones and surgeries
61 and never broke a bone knock on wood .

 

I understand, I got put in the same boat after my knee injury.
