You need to reread what I said. You read wrong.
"Gasoline and electric just for torque because the engine doesn't perform don't cut it with me."
Meaning people that don't like the 3.5 will want battery now at extra expense.
Even the extra turbo now is not cost effective imo.

the engine DOES perform without the electric system. Meaning the people who don’t like the 3.5’s torque delivery will probably like 50lb-ft more delivered 3300rpm sooner, even without the hybrid setup

More Torque down low is a big improvement - provided the engine proves to be durable. I hope it is.

I have no doubt that it will be. The same engine will be used in the new Land Cruiser. I doubt Toyota would water down that name brand.

And in Lexus and other Toyota vehicles. But not longitudinal. Everyone thought the 3rd gen engine was gonna be junk now everyone act likes it the most dependable engine ever made and that the new one will be junk. People just don't like change.

I think it will be ok . The question will be the turbo . I’m sure they will try there best to make that durable . One thing I will say from experience 10 k oil changes are a no go if you want to go into higher mileage, turbos run higher pressures internally so you have more heat and more chances of gaskets failing . The extra heat also makes oil leave more deposits, so oil changes on time will be very important. The other thing is spend a little more time on warm up and before shutting engine down sitting for a few mins at idol is a good thing . Just an extra min is ok .

That's why the tow rating is lower, right ?
All the extra stuff added on for less pull. That's a truck ?

I believe thats due to the limitations with the breaking (braking...oops) system. The powertrain can probably handle it.

I was thinking it's probanly weight related as the Hybrids have 500 pounds less towing capacity.

Even with the new improved all round discs everyone has been complaining about not having ???
Pathetic towing has been decreased no matter how you spin it.
Why the extra power then, to feel the neck jerk a little more off the line ?

Yes, I agree. Not too excited about the progression of body style changes. Seriously looking at last model year 4 Runner (That's if my Tesla Cyber Truck comes in overpriced)

When it doesn’t, will you admit you have no clue what you’re talking about?

Good point. Why have all the extra power if it can't really be used for anything the 3rd gen already is capable of. Thanks EPA.

It might actually be capable of comfortably towing the max weight, unlike the 3g

And when it doesn’t cost $150-200k as you stated, will you admit you don’t know what you’re talking about?
