I was more enamoured with the horn rimmed glasses

 

Saw a little old lady driving this 2002 Monte Carlo SS Pace Car edition. Original owner and proud of it.

 

On the way into work this morning . This small block 1965 Vette that must have been custom painted right after purchasing it in the late 60’s early 70’s. Thats the style of the custom paint that is super faded. An old feller driving it may very well be the original owner. This is a time capsule of what was happening during that time. If I bought it today I’d have a hard time repainting it.

I dont ever remember seeing these when l was younger, must have been an ultra rare trim level.

It’s a Indy 500 Pace Car edition so they made 500 that year. So yeah, pretty rare.

 

That is what I always thought anyway. After saying that I went searching, I couldn’t find that tidbit. It seems the number of pace cars per year is different from year to year but are still a low production number so they become collectibles right away.

 

Cool seeing these cars at a gas station but even more cool looking at those gas prices.

 

Wish l could pull in there to fill up today!

 

Those plastic fender flares are probably impossible to find if you happened to be trying to restore one.

 

1971? Corolla? I learned driving (crashing) in that car. My dad bought one new. 2Tc/4speed.

 

Less enthusiasm when you were making $2.90 an hour though.
