Some of the Toyota videos out since May. A few Toyota people said they will be optional. I believe in certain TRD option package. If they aren't optional, don't buy the truck.

There was a picture posted a few months ago of a Pro without the seats. It was on the internet so it has to be true right?

I think most off-roaders will buy the OR. Both the Pro and Trail Hunter will likely be low-volume and expensive ($57k-60k to match Ranger Raptor, another $10k dealer markup if you don't want to wait a year). So don't worry about the seats. :p

My .02 is “real” OR’s should buy a 150,000 mile 2nd gen or a standard new SR5 and spend the $20k+ they’d save not getting a pro/TH on a SXS which is 1000x more fun on any trail. Better vehicle for on road and a better vehicle for OR… about same $ - plus your new truck doesn’t get destroyed :D

^Where I live, you're more likely to destroy your vehicle on the highways. I keep my built 3rd gen with 29k miles as a trail toy and bought a 13 year-old 4Runner to daily. The 4Runner costed less than my Tacoma mods.

Also the trails in my region alternate between large rocks and water/mud holes. An SxS means wearing whatever you're driving through.

Seeing it in person definitely convinced me. But I’d want it in underground.

showing off the flagship models/trim levels is fine and all that, and I know they want to keep the focus on the big money, but dammitall I wish they would leave an SR or SR5 lying around more often so we could see the range from kitchen sink and a bag of chips to ramen and PB&J for a year....

Those reasons alone I'm going with the off-road. It will be in my garage much sooner.

The SR5 in stock form looks like a pig with disproportionately small base-trim tires, made worse by the longer wheelbase and larger airdam. Probably why Toyota doesn't show it as often.

Yeah strangely the silver one looks bad but that black one they showed originally looked pretty good. Buy some TRD takeoffs from marketplace after all the hillbillies rip them off day 1 and unbolt the spoiler, good to go.

I am not a fan of the way the extended wheelbase looks on the 4th gen. Jury is still out how the trail will treat the longer wheelbase but I am not a fan looking at it.

It was bothering me too until I saw it in person. Looks real good, at least in the pro

No manual on the SR5 which is annoying. Either gotta go SR or Sport/Offroad.
