Today I learned someone makes special one off lug nuts to put Toyota wheels on gm trucks

1.5×14mm thread pitch in the identical form of typical Toyota mag lugs

Finished up a 1994 Lightning. Hood is warped from the mol but thoereise went together really well. Tried to go super 90s with a bright silver interior and metallic purple paint and bedlined bed. Bed sags a bit which is common on this model but overall, getting better at this. One thing I laugh at is so much detail is put into thinks no one sees. But that's part of the fun.

This is making me want to get back into doing model airplanes, as a kid I loved making those.

This was actually right outside Sofia's school when I was picking her up so it's a legit concern lol. Some kid ran up to him when he just started to dig and Dex flung a load of dirt back into the poor guy's face

I want to try one of those. In fact, my xmas list is basically just an SR71. I want to try an F22 for practice but I'm so worried about getting paint right. I feel the color is critical to it looking right as I feel I am now at a skill level to build one properly.

I get that it's probably not seen as cool for our age group but it's fun and relatively inexpensive while also learning and building skills. I don't care personally what anyone thinks.

I did give away the Chevelle today to a friend/coworker. Felt good giving away something I built vs something I just bought as a gift. In fact, one of the most amazing models I have came from @Digiratus , a famous crash by Mark Martin at Daytona. He didn't build it, but the level of effort and detail is incredible and is the benchmark I set for myself in what I'm trying to grow my abilities toward.
    PXL_20231021_030629846.jpg

Either way, hope you are able to rekindle your model making skills. It's fun and certainly something worth passing on to your kids some day.

    A moment in time. Mid-crash.

And it was at Fontana, not Daytona.

Damnit, I knew I would mix that up. Still an absolute masterpiece and happy that it has a home now along with my attempts.

You gonna crash the others too? Surprised you haven't found an E350 model yet.

You know if I could find a w204, Tacoma or Ford E series I would have it already. While I have a few more kits to finish up of the Revell (German) and AMT (American) I plan to pick up a Tamiya kit soon (Japanese) which should be interesting to see how it lays out. Naturally, Tamiya has a lot of the iconic Japanese cars that resonate with me much more than the usual American Muscle cars that most kits locally seem to be. RX7s, NSX, Skylines, BRZ, Celiacs, etc. It'll be a fun venture when I get to that point. Sadly no love for Toyota trucks.

My point is it takes an exceptional skill level to be able to create that crashed version, significant more work goes into it than a pristine version, ironically.

She was doing her fairy puzzles this morning and held up this piece and goes "this looks like Freddy and Stephanie" lol. I don't know why it reminded her of you guys but it was pretty random and funny

Looks nicer than it came new. They weren't particularly great in the amenities department when they were brand spanking
