Aimed the new headlights and the old fog lights. Found a nice, level surface behind a supermarket and spent about 20 minutes getting everything aligned and aimed properly. Used a video from Lightwerkz as a guide and cross-referenced with Daniel Stern's aiming guide. Took the truck a long test ride through the unincorporated parts of town and I am throughly impressed with the improvement from the OEM halogens. I should have taken before and after pictures of the light output, but I didn't and I'm not ripping my truck apart again to put one old halogen back in

I know the LED headlights run cooler than the halogens and that is a little bit of a concern for when winter comes along. But, I think the additional output of the LED's makes up for potential freezing over. And, if those lights do freeze over, I'll have my SS5 Pro's as a backup light source and those should melt ice and snow without any issues.

Yes, I brought a laser level on a tripod.

Here's the OEM LED low beam. There's an orange construction sign that is maybe 500 ft. away

And the OEM LED high beam. Notice that the orange sign is now visible.

And here's the low beam with the Diode Dynamic SS3 Max fog lights

Changed out my useless bubbled up wireless charger tray to the non charger model. Little bit deeper and with an angled bottom. I mostly like that this won’t bubble up and it’s a good place to empty my pockets into on trips. It solves my bubble complaint so works for me. The wireless charger was pure crap anyways so no loss there.

Need to take out the switch next, which I’ll do when I tidy up my radio wiring.

    IMG_0896.jpg

Thread on that charger tray for anyone interested:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wireless-charger-delete-question.813629/#post-29181039

Then yesterday I also towed something a bit larger for the first time. 4 hour trip back home to visit with the folks and pick up some furniture they’re giving me. Only ever time I’ve towed was with a small 14’ Jon boat the day after I got the truck. Left the truck in 5th at 65 and 3200 rpm. Besides the 11.5-12 mpg, the thing tows quite well and I am happy with it.

The 4 hour trip was a good way to test that I like the new non charger tray.

Thanks! It sure is and adds +20 hp easily. paid off the house about 2 months ago and simply saved the payments for the truck… I really didn’t owe a lot on the truck as I had a bid down payment so that helped too…. Plus I was always taught save for what you want don’t borrow for it.

Does anyone know an OEM part number or another suitable replacement for the little rubber stops in the fuel door? Evidently both of mine evicted themselves and now the door rattles pretty bad driving down the road. Thanks in advance.

    Brand new.

    Can I ask a question.
West is the bolt pattern of a Tacoma. How do I determine what my wheel width is. I know the diameter is 16”. But I see all these things like 16x8 I don’t understand.

Did you change out the transfer case oil too? Didn’t realize there was a Canadian counterpart to the California Four Wheel Drive Association, very cool! Get the same type of aluminum badge every year with renewal with member since…..also a member of CORVA -California Off Road Vehicle Association. Both advocate to keep trails open for OHV use. CORVA’s slogan is Protecting Public Land FOR the People Not FROM the People.
