Hey Alex, long time.

I'm doing the meet again July 22, 23, 24. Want to come? I'll get you the link for it if you want. It's not on TW. Still got the 4runner?

Anyone else who wheels hard want to come? Lifted, locked, and armored is HIGHLY recommended/borderline required. We're going to hit The Glade even harder this year. Colorado will be similar but we'll also hit the much more difficult Poughkeepsie Gulch. Body damage is likely to the ill prepared.

 

I took Deck last semester... Hated it... but it prepared me for Mariano this semester.. and some reason it actually is way easier! he fits my style of learning and studying... I like him way better than Deck..

I also talked to one of the guys in my class last semester that is taking deck again.. and he said that 2/3's of the class left Deck's and went to Mariano.. hahaha so...
I recommend you taking Mariano if you do

Yeah a few of the Texas guys are planning to come. We plan to hit it harder this year which is saying a lot considering Alex nearly rolled his 4runner about 20 minutes into the last trip. He's a champ though so it was no worries.

Five minutes into the day we hit a brutal first hill. Up a rocky, jagged hillside where you go up a bit, turn left around some rocks, and continue up. Alex wasn't locked so he decided to use some momentum to get up. He made it up to the turn kinda hauling ass. However, the turn was a rutted frame twister with a big drop off on the right side that would most certainly put you on your lid. He hit those ruts and started kicking over the edge. About three of us spotters jumped on his left side to pull him back down. He didn't do anything wrong. He was just in an unlocked, tall, narrow, light weight truck.

If I remember correctly, everybody that wasn't locked had to be winched up the hill.

Yeah, he wasn't afraid to use the skinny pedal. He kept up with us just fine for the most part. If he got a locker in that thing, he'd be an animal.

Momentum can get you up some difficult stuff but if you start hitting deep ruts while turning left on a hill that slopes to the right and then drops off about ten feet, it can get sketchy in a hurry.

 

Ha ha imagine if anthony went up that he'd be doing 55mph up that easy
