My shift button on my Automatic A340e won’t go in all the way and it’ll go into reverse but not shift into drive, I bought a solenoid replacement kit with the 3 solenoids and new filter hoping that will fix it but any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated

My driver side blinker wasn’t working I cleaned the connectors with a wire brush and also cleaned the ground as well after I did this is when I noticed it wasn’t working I’m hoping it doesn’t have anything to do with it but it’s the only I can think that maybe caused it as it’s been working fine till then

what about your shifter bushings, they could be completely rotted out and shot. Just something else to think about.

Would that keep the shift button from going down all the way?!

I've never replaced mine yet! but use the search function for 1st gen shifter bushings, and there should be several threads on this subject.

If the brake light switch is bad will that keep it from shifting into gear, I’ve noticed that while I fixed the blinker now the brake lights don’t work and it won’t shift

Yes, that will stop it from allowing you to shift in to gear.

    Do the brake lights work?
That’s the fastest way to tell if you have a stop light switch/fuse problem.

No the brake light aren’t working and after I fixed the blinker is when I noticed it, it’s a cheap fix and hoping that does the trick cause I’ve been reading and read that switch will also keep it from going into gear

Check your fuses (might be turn or taillight)

My rear blinkers are working it’s just the brake lights that aren’t that and it’s not shifting which I’ve read are related

On my old extended cab I installed a canopy and decided to run the trailer lights to the canopy. I blew a fuse and it wasn’t letting me shift, until I realized/replaced (Tail fuse I believe) it.

Switch at the brake pedal. Test or replace.
