Depends on the Tacoma. A 2wd sr5 with 50k Miles is just about there.

I paid $34.5k for mine in 2018. TRD OR, 4-door, loaded.

You bought a significantly different truck two years ago at a cheaper price. Time, place, and equal comparisons are relavent in these discussions.

No one should pay mark up period . The only way this will go away is if everyone refuses to pay it . As long as people keep agreeing to this the dealers will keep doing it . Why not ? It’s business 101

They can “ask” but you don’t have to pay. Most Tacomas are under msrp now, pros can be had at sticker.

It has been a while but I recall being able to do a 'one trip permit' in California where you can drive it off the lot but are supposed to take it immediately out of state.

Wait 6mo for the first ‘24 Pro’s to roll off the lines and sadly this might look like a smokin’ bargain.

And in Kalifornia you pay sales tax rate where you live. I bought in LA but paid a lesser OC sales tax rate.

My friend is waiting on his Pro to be released by the dealer for a month now. It and a few other tacomas fell under some recall issue with the airbag and the part is finally coming it. He got a 2023 for $2200 off sticker. I would never pay sticker. My 2018 DCLB Sport 4wd loaded was $35k with the Toyota Platinum warranty and is sitting about 28k miles and looks better than new. I'm glad I bought one when I did.

Bought the same truck on the east coast almost a year ago for MSRP. I figured by now all the dealers would have dropped the crazy market adjustments...I guess not.

You actually believe he got $2,200 off MSRP or did he get $2,200 off dealer addendum?

Where the heck did he find a Pro for less than MSRP? Before all the stupidity it wasn't super common for TRD Pros to go for much less than MSRP. At least on Tundras that's how it was.
