Visited a 1850s Haunted House not long ago, and my only questions were: Who would build their house on a former graveyard and on a spot where they hanged murders, horse thieves, cattle rustlers and other criminals? I read that someone called 911 the other night to report someone crying loudly in the backyard and the responding officers found a woman in an 1800s period green dress, but she disappeared when approached. My sister was killed in a car crash a few years ago . She was 1 year older than me we were very close. After the funeral that night feeling as a bad as possible I looked out the window and a large swarm of fireflies were flying around outside the window where I was looking. I ran outside to see if they were real they were, I smiled remembered when we were kids chasing them putting in Mason jars for "flashlights". I have never seen a firefly before or after that night on this property and I have lived here 20 years. I think it was Linda telling me she is ok don't be sad

Early November 1977 I stopped at the Chickamauga Battlefield just south of Chattanooga. It was early in the morning and foggy which made the place sort of eerie and I was pretty much alone. Nothing spectacular happened during that visit except when I stopped at the Wilder Tower I just felt this uncomfortable feeling as I walked towards it alone. Not sure why I felt the way I did I just got back in the car and left. I was 18 at the time.
In 2010 I visited the battlefield again with my wife. It was a warm sunny day and we enjoyed the visit. Again we approached the Wilder Tower and as I was preparing to climb to the top I met a guy coming out and he told me it was worth the climb. I entered alone and my wife waited at the bottom. I had forgotten my past experience there and eagerly began the climb. The staircase is spiral and is only lighted by slits in the outside walls every rotation as you climb. You go from light to dark as you ascend the tower. About half way up I went into the dark and stopped dead in my tracks. It was ice cold and I felt something had surrounded me. I began to hyperventilate and turned around and got the hell out of there. When I exited the tower my wife said" you didn't go to the top". I looked at her and said "no and I aint either". My wife then grabbed my shirt collar and was mad because it was a new shirt and I had a couple tiny drops of blood on the collar. She said your bleeding and thought I had a locust get in my shirt. When we got back to the car she got out a wipey but the blood was gone. I told her then what had happened to me in the tower, We stopped at the ranger station before leaving and I told them what happened. The ranger laughed and said he has heard stories like that before. Every once in awhile something like that happens there. Glad your alright.
I researched the tower online and found a boy panicked in the tower when something happened and fell from one of the slits and was paralyzed not long after my 1977 visit.

 

I lost my favorite hat somewhere in the Outer Banks. I was in the middle of a roadside repair situation, set the hat on top of my trailer, and thought to myself, "self, grab that hat before you drive off." Of course, I drove off.

Why the hell is that story in this thread, you ask? This was the hat.








I already ordered a replacement. But it isn't nearly as cool.








If you see that hat floating around some dingy parking lot in Hatteras, please, give it a good home.

It was incredibly telling to see people's first reaction to the hat. You know exactly by facial expressions alone who is naive and who has had their ass eaten.

The hat is almost too powerful to possess in a way.

I’ve shared some stories on Calguns.

I’ll post a few of my most glaring encounters. It sucks to be aware.


We had a house oin Cuernavaca Mexico, when I was 10 my mom and I were there alone. The back of the house had a tree 40 yards or so from the house there were sharp rocks all around the tree making it Almost impossible to get to. We used to shoot lizards with our sling shots there as nothing else but birds could get close to the tree. I looked across the yard and there was a very dark man standing under the tree with no shoes on. I yelled for my mom to look, she came over and said to put on my shoes we were leaving. I grabbed my warrachi's put them on and took a few steps, I heard a crunch, I looked under my shoe an I had killed a big scorpion. I yelled for my mom as she had gotten off the phone with our next door neighbor. She saw the dead scorpion and went white. I was not wearing shoes all day till a minute before. Those scorpions down there were always killing young kids and the elderly.
Our neighbor came running up the driveway with a shotgun and ran towards the tree, we all watched the man walk over the rocks and through the back wall 10 feet away. To this day my mom thinks it was the angel of death. There in no way it was human.


This was my first real encounter. Many more since then. I don’t understand what the spirits want and it’s not as frightening as it once was. I had brain surgery in 2004 and the connection is way weaker now.

I just got back from Hatteras and I did not see your hat, but I will keep an eye out again next time I’m there lol

 

My pleasure, er uh OK……

I was on an overnight tour of the Hornet in Alameda CA, with 35 people, Boy scouts and their parents, we were in the front of the ship with a docent. He was telling us that although he never saw any thing this part of the boat was said to be haunted. Just then we heard a big bang like someone hit the girders with a hammer! Being Scouts we had 10 flashlights on the area in seconds, there was a bright green light that just appeared and started Moving slowly across the top of the ship through the girders and anything in its way. It went out through the roof! I looked at the docent to see how he was pulling this off. He was in a state of shock. Being that he was an older man, that served on the Hornet, I was concerned for his safety. I went over to him and was beat to him by another parent. We could tell this was NOT part of the tour! He gained composure and led us out of the are and onto the main deck where they store all the planes.​

Needless to say we all were talking about what we saw trying to figure it out. That night none of us could sleep, we kept hearing banging sounds coming from the front of the ship. Hard to call 35 people liars.

Also one of the parents that smoked was up on the flight deck at 3:30 am when he heard someone coming up from behind, he turned and no one was there. He suddenly felt cold and his cigarette went out. He told no one about that for a week.
