I think for a buggy it would be kind of stupid to start with a solid one. Should look like a raisin in a few months of wheeling. Old yota has crossed my mind alot though but something about the samis is just right.

Samurai would probably need less for the same clearance, and be way smaller/lighter. But yeah as long as the bones are good I could care less about anything else on it really

That picture I posted earlier of the buggy on its side is exactly that. Samurai guts into a custom chassis. Thing is badass.

The other buggy with the caddy grille is also pretty sweet, a-lot longer of a wheelbase than the samuri buggy, but also had rear steer. Seeing the stuff these guys craft is insane, then to see the stuff they can go over with it..

Edit: quoted the wrong post but whatever. My b. :pccoffee:

:spy: Would I be voted off the island if I said for a buggy...I'd just get a wrangler? It's the "I need an X....so I got Y, because you just would, wouldn't you?" The aftermarket scene is deep and cheap, tons of support, tons of options and they're CHEAP because of how many there are.

Yeah he obviously just loves building shit which is cool to see. My favorite part of that build is how he did tube trusses on the axles. Toobs are the best

No lol Josh, Dom, Adam, Dario, and Andy (both pickups the one I bought the 4runner from). Andy is Dom's brother and Dario is their cousin. Josh has a buggy along with that red 4runner

Sami's do have their short comings. They tend to like to flip and roll due to being so narrow and short. This can also cause traction issues when trying to get over obstacles. 80s toyotas (pickup and 4runner) SAS'd and stretched have 1 or 2" longer wheel base than my regular cab does

Have to see how serious the whole fully locked deal is.

Do you remember who we were talking to about cheap axles? All the ones I find for the prices he was saying are open diff.

I posted it but I'm out. Got stuff happening.

The field and fire or whatever it is was the one that was fully locked. The Winchendon trails i haven't a clue about. That was the video I posted. You'd have to check on Facebook for more info on that event to see what they're saying.

(Not Jared) what are y'all using for floor jacks? I have a 2T that is hilariously too small for the truck. Just wondering if there's any need for more than "Just get the HF 3 ton" 99.999% chance I get a different saddle/cradle for it to get more height. I say Not Jared because I know the saddle thing he's got and I already have that on the to-do list anyway :)

I use the aluminum HF 2 ton. I use it for non-osha approved stuff all the time so the lighter weight is nice(40lbsvs 100 lbs). I am thinking of getting one of the offroad ones due to my shop setup.

I love mine. My Brother dropped coin on a snapon years ago, and when I was in the market he said to get the hf, its the exact same thing at a fraction of the cost. He wish he saved the money and got this one.
