Not even that much, folks complaining probably won't even think about purchasing a 4th gen for years to come.

I think it is a cool feature, even though I would fall into the group potentially buying either an SR5, TRD OR, or TRD Sport.
My biggest deterrence is that I rack up miles too quickly at the moment, a little over 20k a year.

I thought the same while watching that. Now they will have to add a racing harness and hutchens device to keep your body from bouncing out of the bouncy seats.

Meaning you’ll seek a higher MPG vehicle?

What does you racking up too many miles have to do with owning the truck. Oh wait , let me answer that. Turbo failure paranoia?

The only reason modern turbos fail is because the fuckwits in the driver seat don’t know how to maintain a vehicle.

Change your oil on schedule and turbos aren’t an issue.

Cool conclusion you jumped to there bud. If I was scared of turbochargers, I wouldn't have put 93k miles (and counting) on a car with turbocharged boxer engine:

Too many miles = too much money lost to depreciation

Turbo charger isn't covered under warranty if you take it offroad.

Ok so that has to be the dumbest excuse to not buy a new vehicle though lol it's a toyota. They hold their resale value better then the other brands . Just say you don't want one now instead of silly reasons

What if the turbo fails at 61K miles?

I don't think its dumb at all, some people don't want to buy a nice vehicle and beat it up running mindless commuter miles on it, If I had to rack up a bunch of commuter miles I wouldn't do it in the Tacoma either, I would grab something else to stack those miles onto and enjoy the truck for the activities I enjoy with it. Maybe grab a used version of one of Toyotas other cars or an older Subaru.

As it stands now I don't have to make that choice but I definitely wouldn't chew up vehicle life on a bunch of droning to work miles, thats what old Camrys and Corollas are for.

Take your 4th gen OR cook the turbo take it in for warranty repair and see how that goes.

Waste O'Money is the extended warranty's name. Service department can deny the claim for any reason they see fit, and what are you going to do? Pay for a lawyer who can win a case against Toyota?

I see things differently. If I'm going to be spending so much of my time in a vehicle, I want it to be in comfort. I'll fly coach for a 3-4 hr flight, but if I'm going overseas, it's business class.
