After that, im selling the truck

Im playing.. I like the new tacoma, but cant buy a first year. Im all over the place though. Looking for another car to drive. Could have a 100 series, Tundra, old camry, FJ40 project, Kei truck.. who knows!

I really don't want to, but might have to take the truck somewhere to get diagnosed. Like at a Toyota shop (not a dealer).

I will probably rebalance the driveshaft this week, maybe get my tires rebalanced. And then I have no idea.

 

Are you running the OEM driveshaft or one of those Tom Woods ones?

 

I have a Tom Woods. I replaced the part that connects to the tcase- of the double cardan, so maybe thats what is throwing the balance off?

Noting for the future. I never swapped O2 sensor from the first code.. And now Im getting P0157. But its so intermittent, its just not high on my list. And I just clear the code..

Drove my 30 mile to/from work, and no lights.. id say it was a win.



Side note, finally going to get driveshaft balanced on Friday. How far could I potentially drive in FWD on pavement - aka no rear driveshaft connected? I need to drop it off an hour from my house.. translates to like 40 miles in DC area traffic

 

I'd do it. Low speeds etc. Just don't race off the lights/ stop signs

 

Up to 60? I will need to go on a highway.

 

Oh, well.... I wouldn't drive 60 like that. 40-45 sure.


How about this. There were some guys that had no choice but to drive FWD from AOAA? RC to NJ.

 

I do have the ability to pull off somewhere and pull the driveshaft, and then take it to the shop. I was just checking if I could/should just do it at my house. I will probably play it safe and do it close by the shop though

 

On the way to get driveshaft balanced, and I get P0157 now. Bank 2 sensor 2. Yay...

 

No more vibrations!
