I'm trying to add a break controller to my 1996 Tacoma 4 cyl, 2wd, and The controller says to attach a wire to the brake switch above the brake pedal, and I'm not sure which wire to hook it to. I've tried 2 different wires one a bluish purple and 1 a light Gray lavender, but neither 1 makes it work right . The break controller is a tekonsha voyager. any suggestions?

(and this is my first message, not sure how to send it out to reach the most people. If anyone can forward it on, I'd appreciate it. )

    It's a small travel trailer. A PCCW E-12RB, 1900 LBS dry weight.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
You need to hook the brake control trigger wire to the brake light switch.

The switch that turns on the brake lights it should be easy to see with your head under the dash looking up at the brake pedal linkage.

Thanks. I found the switch, but my question is which wire on the switch do I connect to. And I figured it out. It's the green wire with the white stripe. I also figured out that I could simply run a wire to the back of the truck and tie into the same wire there at the brake light. I find that to be easier than standing on my head underneath the dash tapping into wires that are very difficult to reach and work with.

Yep, was gonna say, just remove a rear tail light and run it under the rear bumper - much easier
